I received the deck as a gift and am WOWED by the art and the way the mind can sort of fall into the imagery. shrug* If I don’t look up the cards, then all I see is gorgeous images that have little arcane doins on them which I do not always intuitively grok, and when I do look them up, I sometimes feel a little cheated that the cosmic stuff does not seem… oh, true, or in alignment, or fulfilled, or something that really gives me insight. Like the tarot, the dragon deck is a big project with 72 cards and has been a long-term project that may take Ravynne several more years to complete.

The guidebook can seem a little bit drawn out and repetitive for readers who prefer brief and easier to read explanations. For those who are interested in more of a traditional tarot deck, The Star Tarot is an excellent option. There is some really good stuff to be found under this heading that might be missed if you ignore this section because you don’t read reversals. I have the deck and think its art is perhaps one of the most beautiful arrays I have ever seen in any deck but I rarely ever use the deck because of the same disconnect you and others state.
