Description

Another form of Apollo appears at the Waystation. He sees that the hunters were in residence after a recent quest to find the Teumessian Fox. Reyna and Thalia are discussing how the mission went. Apollo asks Reyna if she regretted joining the hunters and she says not for a minute. Thalia says that she's a great hunter and that they'll catch the fox soon. Emmie calls them into the kitchen to wash carrots and he sees Jo trying to teach Georgina how to forge weapons. Georgina asks Apollo about the doll she gave him before he left and says no when he asks for another one. It seems to me, that The Tower of Nero outdid itself in all the ways it could and gave a fitting ending to this story. A story that, may I add, we have been following from the very beginning of the saga. Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano: A daughter of Bellona and former praetor of the Twelfth Legion Fulminata. She assists the heroes in The Tyrant's Tomb, and then becomes a Hunter of Artemis. This book made me ugly-cry, and laugh out loud, and scream when my parents weren’t home. Not kidding, I literally punched the sofa. Because emotions. Not for me, though. I got a creaking seat on an Amtrak train and hours to binge-watch Meg’s stinky shoes.

She looked up from her complimentary Amtrak magazine, raising an eyebrow above her rhinestone-studded cat-eye glasses. Where? Line 3 refers to erasing Python from existence and freeing the oracle so the power of prophecy would be fully restored. The book begins like many of Riordan’s others with Apollo and Meg being ambushed while travelling. Once captured, the pair gain a new ally in Luguselwa who betrays her team and escorts them to the safety. The maturity was so amazing in this book. I hated Apollo so much in the first book and Meg got on my nerves. They were so immature and bratty and annoying. But Tower of Nero really showed how much they’d grown and changed since then and it made me so proud. That character development was both slow and subtle but also so insane and obvious that I just loved it so much. I loved it.He then goes to the Waystation to learn that the Hunters of Artemis are struggling to fight the Teumessian Fox. He sees Jo, Georgina, and Lityerses all thriving and learns from Leo that Calypso is loving high school and is currently at band camp. He says they are figuring their relationship out. Luguselwa means "beloved of the god Lugus" in the ancient language of the Gaul people, as stated by Apollo, who later also confirmed the existence of the ancient Celtic Deities and referred to them as "a strange, fierce bunch". Rachel Elizabeth Dare states that she can see a huge mansion but nobody else can. This mansion is the Brooklyn House of Magic but only Rachel can see through the Mist, so only she can see it.

When he wakes up, he sees Artemis leaning over him. He cries and gives his sister a hug. Artemis comforts him and says everything's alright, he made it. After they break the hug, Apollo looks at himself seeing all his scars and bruises from his last fight were gone. He asks Artemis how long he was out for, and she tells him that only two weeks had passed. He then asks about his friends and Artemis reassures him that she sent them all clear omens of his success. Artemis helps Apollo change clothes and they prepare to go to the throne room. Apollo asks for a moment alone as he tries to gather his thoughts. He takes off the laurel wreath on his head since he feels like he does not deserve it. All these visual reminders of all the things he's done in these past few centuries causes him to feel uneasy, but he says this uneasiness also feels reassuring. As he continues thinking he realizes he doesn't see Mount Olympus as a home anymore and wants to see Meg again as well as being with Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter again. But he realizes the world of demigods isn't his place but that doesn't mean he can't remember his experiences there. This doesn't mean he can't go and visit though but before this he has to show himself to his family. He turns and walks to the throne room.

Apollo receives his old godly bow as a gift from Camp Jupiter, Meg receives seeds, and they set off to New York after receiving the final prophecy from Ella and Tyson; they realize it is in terza rima form and they have to find more stanzas in the east. They go in hopes of being reunited with their friends from Camp Half-Blood. [13] The Tower Of Nero [ edit ] After doing so, it snaps out of a trance and is shot with an arrow and killed. Apollo turns around to see a Germani named Gunther, and a Gaul holding Meg at sword point. It is revealed that Meg and the Gaul, Luguselwa, know one another. Now Apollo and Meg must get ready for the final – and, let’s face it, probably fatal – adventure. They must face the last emperor, the terrifying Nero, and destroy him once and for all. There's a reference to Rachel's proper debut book The Battle of the Labyrinth in which she throws a hairbrush at Luke and catches him off guard. In The Tower of Nero, she throws a hairbrush at a barbarian when trying to cover Apollo.

I finally finished this book (although is finishing a book only like a week after it's released actually slow? anyway) Meg McCaffrey: A twelve-year-old demigod daughter of Demeter. She is described as a colorfully dressed street urchin. She is fierce, bossy, and tight-lipped about her past. She has a grain spirit protector named Peaches. She becomes Apollo's master in The Hidden Oracle. Percy & Annabeth: These two are going to college in California after spending some time in New Rome with Frank, Hazel, and the others. They’re not living together, but their relationship seems solid. While they each talked about what they’re majoring in (marine biology or aquaculture and environmental design, respectively), I felt there was a sense of purposeful vagueness so fans could envision their own future for these two. Apollo decides to take a new route of action and tries to shoot the remotes out of Nero's hands. This succeeds the first time but he is too slow the second attempt. He presses another remote but this one turns on three TVs. Apollo scans the room to see how his friends are doing and sees Meg being outnumbered by her siblings with Nico loosing steam. Apollo can't help because he only has one arrow left minus the Arrow of Dodona. Nero grabs another incorrect remote and is left with just one more remote. Though he’s had his fair share of tragedies, Nico’s story, like many of the other demigods’ tales, is one of hope. While I’ll always wish for there to be more Nico content, this book is meant to be about Apollo, and I understand that our favorite son of Hades will have his own time to shine. At the end of the day, he truly wants to help people, and I think he’ll get that chance sooner rather than later. (See the spoiler section below.)

I considered that perhaps courage was a self-perpetuating cycle, like abuse […] All any of us could do was try, and hope that, in the end the virtuous cycle would break the vicious one.”
