Overview: The Capital city and its art galleries, bars, restaurants, and long-held secrets are featured in this cozy- inspired mystery that is as unpredictable as the mighty Susquehanna River it sits on. This first podcast episode includes the prologue and the first two chapters - it opens with a prologue featuring the transcript of a performance by the internationally known bad-boy performance artist Alan Moonshine. It was during this live performance that Moonshine discovered his father had died. The first few chapters of the book then introduce us to Keith Reed, a painter, and his wife, Ginger. Keith is visiting Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and convinces his wife that it is the cozy town they have been looking to move to. We are also introduced to the Capital City on the Susquehanna River when Keith and Ginger move from Michigan to their new home. After a local art gallery recreates a few of Moonshine’s outrageous performances, the actor who portrayed Moonshine is arrested for the crime. Keith suspects that the real killer is still on the loose in this river town: a theory that proves true when a second body is found, floating in the Susquehanna. This fifth podcast episode includes chapters twelve through fifteen - Keith meets Patience Gray, who runs the Gray Gallery. She invites Keith to attend a special performance/recreation of Alan Moonshine’s first and last performance pieces which she is presenting that coming Friday, Halloween. Keith and Ginger attend the very strange and pretentious Alan Moonshine’s Alpha Omega. Keith realizes that the actor portraying Moonshine is the young man, Trevor, whom he met at the bar. Trevor’s fiancé, Rose, is there, as is Jane.

Paint By Murder

Like any good amateur detective mystery there are cats, detailed descriptions of gourmet meals, unique locations, and a quirky community. However, there are also “recreations” of Alan Moonshine’s most important performances, thought-provoking observations about the contemporary art world, and genre-bending moments that bring this story alive. This sixth podcast episode includes chapters sixteen through eighteen - Keith and Ginger watch the second half of Alan Moonshine’s Alpha Omega. After the show, they go to The River Room to discuss the performance. A very intoxicated Trevor shows up to celebrate the evening. Keith and Ginger are surprised to find out that Trevor is a distant nephew of Jane’s. A few weeks later, while exploring the meandering rooms and aisles of the Third Street Bookstore, Keith hears a strange sound . . . Kate ( Alexxis Lemire - The Other Mother) works alongside Casey ( Galadriel Stineman - Operation Cupcake) at an art gallery run by Robert (Stephen Graybill). It is where, whilst dealing with the cattiness of Casey, that Kate finds herself given the job of examining a collection of paintings which Daniel Sutter ( Jordi Vilasuso - Killer Island), a handsome carpenter, inherited from his late grandfather. Whilst most of the paintings are pretty standard, one of them certainly grabs Kate's attention and also excites Robert when she shows him it as it seems to be by a Dutch master. But things start to become messy as there is murder, someone wants Kate to lie about where the painting came from and it seems that she can't be sure who she can trust.

In Bailee Abbott’s second book in the Paint by Murder mysteries, Chloe and Izzie are taking their paint party business on the road—with murder as the first stop!
