Favourite activity: digging a hole! You can find mini wiggly life within it, explore structure and strength of sides while excavating, bury/plant things (I’ve used real veg for kids to plant out and then harvest – instant allotmenting!) then add water and watch it drain away and vanish! The muddier that hole gets the more exciting it becomes! This is a great way to make sure that children don’t end up with anything unsuitable in their mud pie play.
