Holding your plant upright in the middle of the pot, carefully fill backfill with potting mix around the rootball until the top feeder roots are covered with 2 cm fresh potting mix. Citrus plants like a more acidic soil, which is what you get with this ready-made citrus specific potting mix. We are able to arrange for a collection if that is easier for you, just get in touch and we can help with this. While putting too much citrus in a compost pile can mean making it overly acidic, there are actually many plants that enjoy acidic soil.

Bear in mind that this process takes much longer than a hot compost pile would; expect it to take a few months up to a year for your compost to be ready for use.Westland Citrus Potting Mix contains unique Seramis granules for optimum water and nutrient availability. Examples of large volume items are, but are not limited to, bags of media (clay balls, perlite, soil etc. Citrus seeds may be okay to use in hot compost piles, because the heat will eventually kill off the seeds, preventing the germination process.
