Description

The new FJ Hyperflex and Hyperflex Carbon golf shoes have been designed with the athletic golfer in mind, as it delivers Hyper Fit, Hyper Control, and Hyper Power for men and women. These features are on top of the athletic lightweight comfort, added stability, and swing power maximisation that FootJoy incorporated into its 2021 models. Bauer Media Group consists of : Bauer Consumer Media Ltd, Company number 01176085; Bauer Radio Limited, The original HyperFlex golf shoe was a very popular model as well as one of the most athletic styles FootJoy has offered across its extensive history. Updated for 2023, the new HyperFlex range comes in three men's models - HyperFlex, HyperFlex BOA, and HyperFlex Carbon. The HyperFlex Carbon features - you guessed it - carbon fiber in the construction, as well as a few more bells and whistles to battle for the crown of the best golf shoe of the year and earn a place in our 2023 Editor's Choice. The only issue with the ‘athletic’ shoe is that you probably dont want to wear them in the bar or off the course for very long. The FootJoy HyperFlex Carbon features spikes so you are probably not putting them on at home.

Whenever you buy a pair of FootJoy golf shoes, you do so knowing the company has been the #1 golf shoe manufacturer for over 100 years. FootJoy has five key areas it works on, quality, style, comfort, innovation, and performance, and if you loved your first pair of FootJoys, you’ve probably already bought more. Another way in which the FootJoy HyperFlex Carbon differs from traditional knit shoes is the weight. In a size 13, these weigh in at a hefty 17.9 ounces, compared to the TRUE Linkswear Knit 3 [review HERE] at 11.7 ounces. If you’re a walker, that is something to consider. The upper of the Hyperflex shoe is made from a high performance engineered mesh with TPU yarns that combines with a soft and comfortable athletic waterproof knit upper to deliver incredible retention properties, while providing waterproof protection. The OptiFlex Outsole provides lightweight stability and performance & the Pulsar LP Cleats by Softspikes provide stability and support from the moment you step foot onto the course. The HyperFlex family of golf shoes features FootJoy’s OptiFlex outsole that’s been bolstered by six traction cleats. The OptiFlex outsole was designed with flex (or relief) points that move with your foot as you walk. This makes walking not only feel more natural but comfortable as well. Most of the shoes will clean really easily with a damp towel, but you may find the knitted bootie tough to clean as it isn’t waterproof and will just absorb water and mud.

Comfort is King

We’d all love to add more control to our golf swing, and the Power Stabiliser outsole creates a secure foundation by harnessing any lateral movement. The new FootJoy Hyperflex golf shoes also have ThermoPlastic saddle straps that provide medial and lateral support.

Another change FootJoy made to this year’s HyperFlex lineup is in what they call the Saddle Strap. You’ll notice that the Saddle Strap is larger than previous pairs and is attached to the heel counter rather than as a stand-alone piece. Similar to the addition of carbon fiber, the redesigned Saddle Strap should provide more stability, especially on the lateral side of the midfoot section. Because the strap wraps to the medial side, you’ll have some extra support there, too. Enjoy support and stability the moment you set foot on the course with Softspike’s Pulsar LP cleats. With the release of the HypefFlex and HyperFlex Carbon golf shoes, FootJoy promises hyper power, hyper control and hyper fit for men and women. Let’s dive straight into the technology behind the shoe and how it can possibly benefit your game. FootJoy HyperFlex and HyperFlex Carbon Release DetailsThanks to the soft spikes the grip was exceptional on the course, but I would say maybe too good. Before my first round, I was on the driving range and struggled to get my feet turning through my swing as they gripped the mat too well, which I thought could have hurt after more and more swinging, however on the course and with some give in the ground they worked wonderfully. A few years ago, I had a FootJoy shoe fitting where the shoe professional told me I had been wearing the wrong-sized shoes my whole golfing career, and he sized me down dramatically. I now wear a minuscule EU 39, which is a whole size smaller than I wear in other brands shoes, but they fit me perfectly. I tried the HyperFlex with the BOA system which you can see above. I’m often not a fan of BOA golf shoes as I’ve found them to be restricting and uncomfortable. So I was very skeptical about these, but I can certainly say they were great. The BOA system is internal and only has a small amount showing where it tightens the strap, I believe this is why I found them to be so secure as the BOA tightens with the straps rather than the laces themselves. Keep cool under pressure with a breathable performance mesh that’s combined with a ribbed knit saddle for support and structure.
