This might just be the most divisive Wonder Woman outfit in this list. Some people view this outfit as emblematic of a bad point in Diana’s history, due to this being around the time that she was in a story where she had to relearn all of her powers in somewhat of a reboot. Regardless of your thoughts on that storyline, though, a lot of people really love this outfit — like, to the point that they would call this her best of the bunch. And really, we can’t find too much wrong with it either. And I will admit that one of the shots of Diana’s butt was a group butt shot. All the members of the team were lined up and shot from behind because I guess the butts that flex together stay together to the bitter end. While several images make it look like she is wearing a skirt, they are actually culottes, split pants that vary from thigh to knee length. "It was never a skirt," LeClear says. "But it's so flowy and loose on the bottom that it flows in the early versions very much like a skirt." Over time, and on more than one occasion, the garment was shortened. "Sometimes it's because of taste, and other times because it's a lot easier to draw. It really did start out as a form of elaborate shorts," LeClear says.

Will it be hard-drinking, hard-bodied Aquaman (a flexing, growling Jason Momoa)? Because of his hastily explained mommy issues. We go from three entries ago, where we had a Wonder Woman outfit that seemed to be missing a few articles, to this costume from the ‘60s, which is so plain and covered up that it makes Diana almost indistinguishable from a civilian. Diana wore a lot of different casual outfits during this time, but the thing they all had in common was downplaying her former "All-American" side and making her blend in more. It was a smart strategy in the context of the storyline since Diana was trying to spy around to figure out who was framing Steve Trevor for murder. So she gave up her powers and her signature outfit for fashionable ‘60s duds.It was a bizarrely sexist framing of a feminist icon. And while it’s part of the comic book genre to glorify the hot bods of superheroes, so many of Whedon’s shots seemed to be focused on Wonder Woman’s butt over what she was even, uh, saying. (Especially in the middle, plot-connecting dialogue-heavy scenes.) Stream It Or Skip It: 'Christmas at the Chalet' on Lifetime, Where Divorcée Teri Hatcher Explores Love, Purpose, and Skiing in Aspen Stream It Or Skip It: ‘Leo’ on Netflix, in Which Adam Sandler Voices a Lizard Who's Also a Child Psychologist Interestingly, advance artwork for the New 52 showed Wonder Woman again wearing long pants, but when the book was released her legs were bare in the style of the classic costume. There was clearly some behind-the-scenes conflict over whether to keep her in pants, but readers could only speculate who'd taken which side. Even without the messy mythology, Justice League is a muddle. Too often, it seems like the screenplay is making stuff up as it goes along. When the gang have figured out Steppenwolf’s location and balderdash plan, Batman declares: “Transport won’t fly that fast”. “It will for me,” says Cyborg. Right then. Screw the physics. If you have never seen this portrayal of Wonder Women then the only thing you may need to know is that it was a Sexist portrayal and she was often represented as an object which we all don't agree in today's time. The debate doesn't seem to end in the near future but the pressing issue still remains that "Is Over-sexualization feminism's answer to the patriarchal construct?". Originally, Wonder Woman was made of clay by her mother, Queen Hippolyta, and then brought to life. Later writers would add that the Olympian deities gave her powers reflecting her original description: "Beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, stronger than Hercules, and swifter than Mercury." In the post-New 52 era of the past few years, Wonder Woman became the daughter of Zeus proper, but as part of the ongoing Rebirth storyline she has learned that her past is a lie and is setting out to discover the truth. 5. SHE WAS A REFORMER OF CRIMINALS.

However, I also think the butt demands respect. To that point, if there are exclusively shots of one person’s butt in a movie, and no one else’s, I feel like it’s indicative of some sort of grave inequity. Shouldn’t everyone’s butt be given the same attention? No sooner had someone in the office mentioned that Justice League was on HBO this month, had someone else muttered aloud: “Did Justice League really need so many shots of Wonder Woman’s butt?” Lo, a debate raged. Taylor Ann Green Confesses That She "Initiated" Kiss With Austen Kroll On 'Southern Charm': "I Caught Him Off Guard" Well, the thing is that it is the industry way of making money. We have all seen oversexualized male characters and to come par with it there are the equal share of female characters too. But are we still using this point to justify the oversexualization - that the male characters are okay with this but when it comes to female characters it becomes a topic to gossip about. That is why I think people get angry about how Wonder Woman is shot in Justice League. It’s not the butt, but the angle. Anything Else You Want To Say About Justice League?

In today's time, it may seem like a feminist move that a female superhero is wearing "Whatever she want and feel comfortable in" but the reality is often disappointing. This is comfortable for only men who want to see women like this and it's a dream come true for them. LeClear adds that the original costume design "had a fully Grecian look with sandals" that was rejected by both the character's creator, William Moulton Marston, and his wife Elizabeth, upon whom she was based. She thought a skirt was impractical for combat, and he insisted on boots over the sandals that had been suggested. Interestingly enough, sandals eventually showed up on the cover of a 1951 issue when she got an image makeover. 3. HER CREATOR ALSO INVENTED AN EARLY LIE DETECTOR TEST. Similarly, the lighting in the sequence where the newly formed Justice League leap down, ready for action, doesn’t make it look like someone’s shining a flashlight on Diana’s ass. She’s just one member of a team, charging into action.
