Unlike major brands such as Delonghi, EcoAir are a relatively small company. They are basedin the UK with offices in London, so if you want to buy a British machine EcoAir (or Ebac) are good choices. We also think it could do with a bigger water tank. At 1.7 litre, it's one of the smallest tanks we've reviewed, meaning it needs to be emptied regularly. The PB-02 has a 500ml water tank, which is considerably smaller than other models on this list. The maximum extraction rate is also low at 250ml per day, however, so you shouldn't need to empty it too frequently. Most importantly, the EcoAir Summit S is effective at removing water from the air in warm environments. It's much less effective in cooler environments, so we recommend a desiccant dehumidifier for a garage or conservatory.

Digital Display - The dehumidifier has a large humidistat display, digital controls and a colour indicator which shows the humidity level (blue for 40%, green for 50% and red for 60%). In addition, the air purifier uses a five stage system to control odours and remove allergens. This includes charcoal, anti-allergy and ionisation stages. If you or someone in your household suffers from allergies, the air purifier could help relieve symptoms. We also like how the charcoal and deodouriser stagesreduce nasty odours that can build up in homes.Even the quietest dehumidifier can't claim to be silent - at least if it uses electricity. Manufacturers often describe machines as having "silent" modes, but in reality this means they have a setting to reduce sound output. Dehumidifiers prevent damp and mould by reducing humidity in your home, garage, caravan or boat. A relative humidity of around 40-50% is considered healthy. A dehumidifier can maintain this environment in your home. It's also very lightweight. Weighing just 6kg, it's easy to move this between rooms. In comparison, some of the heaviest models we've reviewedweigh more than double. A downside to this lightweight design is that it has a relatively small two litre tank. Be prepared to empty it regularly if you have a damp house.​ We like the control panel of the Summit S. The "On" button has three colours depending on the humidity, so you can see the current level at a glance. There's also a timer and active humidity display on the control panel. With a 2 litre water tank, the Summit S is one of the smallest we've reviewed, so be prepared to empty it more often than other dehumidifiers. There is a continuous drainage option, but this often isn't viable for an in-home dehumidifier.

I cannot speak highly enough of ECOAER and our experience with them. I would unreservedly and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone considering installing a solar pv system. One of our favourite compactdehumidifiers is the EcoAir DC12. While there are lighter options available, its slim design and large water tank make it an excellent home dehumidifier. Meaco claims that Zambezi has six"world firsts" for a desiccant dehumidifier. These include a digital display, which is usually only found on refrigerant models, and a sterilising ioniser. The Zambezi also includes Meaco's Energy Saving Laundry+, for drying clothes fast, and a daily timer.

The EcoAir Summit S is a refrigerant dehumidifier with excellent water extraction at room temperature or above. It has a maximum extraction rate of 12 litres per day and two fan settings depending on your requirements. As the name suggests, the DC12 has a maximum capacity of 12 litres per day. This makes it suitable for small homes or flats, but we wouldn't recommend it for houseswith more than three bedrooms. Spending more money doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a higher quality dehumidifier. In many cases, more expensive models include extra features rather than an ability to extract water faster. EcoAir specialise in products for managing air quality. They produce a number of products, including dehumidifiers and air conditioning units.

With a large capacity for removing water, the DC202 is a great option as a whole home dehumidifier. The four litre water tank is also one of the largest available on domestic dehumidifiers, so you won't need to empty it as often.

TheDD122FW MK5 Classic has a humidistat system for detecting humidity and adjusting its settings accordingly. This allows it to change between standby, economy and full power modes automatically, saving energy and preventing the air becoming too dry. The lightweight design (6kg) makes it easy to carry between rooms.Unfortunately not - dehumidifiers typically use too much energy over an extended period to be powered by batteries. Battery dehumidifiers might become available as technology progresses, but not at the moment. There are three primary ranges of EcoAir dehumidifier. The DD range ofdesiccant dehumidifiers contains models such as the DD122 Classic MK5. The domestic range contains refrigerant modelsincluding the excellent DC12. EcoAir also produce a set of industrial dehumidifiers, although we won't focus on these in this article. There are, however, rechargeable dehumidifiers. These are typically non-electric and are best suited for wardrobes, drawers or cabinets. Once the material has been saturated, you can "recharge" them by plugging in the machine for a short period.
