The Dellonda DG10 portable wood fired Pizza Oven and Smoking Oven in either black or stainless steel does come with a pizza paddle.

Flame coverage is even across the oven roof, which helps create evenly cooked toppings with minimal dough-turning. This is perfect for cooking pizza and after setting the fire and getting the Auplex up to temperature in 40 minutes, using the accurate thermometer, we pushed the wood back to reveal a large cooking stone that was able to take a 10in disc of dough. However, there's ample space in the cavity, meaning it can be used like a standard oven for cooking joints of meat and vegetables.OK, while it may require a little more effort than just opening the freezer, or app-tapping your way to pizza for dinner, there is something incredibly rewarding about preparing, making and cooking your very own cheesy, doughy, crusty deliciousness at home, using one of the many domestic pizza ovens currently available. The heat regulation and retention was fantastic and the resulting pizzas had a wonderfully smoky taste to the dough – it took minimal management to lightly char the crust and crisp up the toppings.

Before you decide on your oven for good, the last thing to consider is if the one you're picking up is built to last. A chime lets you know when you’re up to temperature and the numbers on the temperature dial flash as the oven reaches each temperature level on the way up. Once the fire is going, you’ll need to wait just over half an hour before you can start cooking, but the pizza quality is consistently delicious, with beautifully smoky, flavourful dough, bubbles of cheese and well-cooked toppings. There’s a temperature gauge on the side, so you can keep an eye on the heat, plus a handy baffle in the chimney that helps you control the draw of air through the oven for faster or slower cooking. The oven will be pizza ready in about 10 minutes and there’s a dial on the top to tell you when it’s at the right temperature. Add an extra layer of amazing flavours to your next BBQ, family picnic, or company retreat with the Haven Outdoor Wood Fired Pizza Oven! When we had a sneak preview at Ooni’s new product earlier in the year it really whetted our appetite to get cooking with it in our own back garden. The oven sits on top of the gas burners and uses them as the heat source to get the ceramic pizza stone up to temperature, which it did, very quickly, in around 15 minutes.

Setting it up was almost as effortless, and once we had inserted the stone, plugged in the rotating base (you'll need an outdoor power source for this) and attached the gas hose, the oven was ready to be lit. You should also consider an area that best allows for smooth launching of your pizzas, plus plenty of surface space to both build your pizzas and plate them up once cooked. The Sage Smart Oven Pizzaiolo is an indoor bench-top pizza oven, claiming to provide ‘brick oven performance at a fraction of the cost’. For the most recent round of testing, we teamed up with Gardeners' World, the experts on all things outdoors. If you plan on entertaining a large group, you’ll want a larger oven that can cook multiple pizzas at once. It's made by Danish brand Morsø, and is a sturdy, stylish piece of outdoor kit that feels built to last. We tested it with both wood and charcoal and it’s easy to load with fuel and light, although it does take a good 30 minutes to reach a temperature high enough for cooking. With its compact size and easily retractable legs, it might make a good option for the beach as long as you can drive it there, as at 29kg, it's probably a little heavy to carry. Cost aside, we loved using this oven to cook pizzas in our at-home, each of which came out perfectly.

The thicker the base the longer it will take to cook all the way through and also if there is a lot of topping then you will also need to cook it for longer. Although it's electric, the Sage Smart Oven Pizzaiolo gives you the experience of authentic wood-fired pizza but without the stress of firing up an outdoor oven.

You can opt to heat the oven using wood or charcoal for that authentic chargrilled taste, or you can enjoy the even consistency of gas cooking. We made a pizza in just 60 seconds when cooking with gas, though with the lower temperatures when cooking with wood, our pizza took a minute and forty seconds. Our Neapolitan base was delightfully light and crispy every time with puffed cheese and well-cooked toppings.
