Description

Choso was initially introduced as a villain in Jujutsu Kaisen, as the leader of the three Cursed Womb: Death Paintings. His two siblings were killed by Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki, which is why he wanted to kill both of them, with Yuji being his primary target. The two of them clashed in Shibuya, and Choso was able to defeat Yuji, but he ended up sparing his life because he had a vision that Yuji was his brother as well, just as he was about to kill him.

In addition to jujutsu, Choso also excels in taijutsu, capable of standing up against a master martial artist like Yuji. Using his wit alongside assorted techniques to contend with Yuji's strength, Choso overcame his opponent to the degree that he could have ended his life. [22] This is even after Mechamaru helped the Jujutsu High student put the blood manipulator in a situation where he couldn't control it outside his body. I can sense the transformation of my younger brothers through our blood connection no matter how far away they are. For living things… …death… …is the final and greatest… …transformation. I saw it with my own eyes. I had an intense sensation of Yuji Itadori’s “death.” That must mean… …Yuji is my younger brother! If Noritoshi Kamo has extended his life by moving from body to body… …then nothing is impossible. So… …using all my strength… …I will fulfill my duty as the older brother!!" [63] In this vision, Choso observed Yuji sitting around a picnic table and sharing a meal with his two siblings (Eso and Kechizu), with it being suggested that Choso and Yuji are actually brothers – but is there any merit to this? Choso earned the opportunity to take revenge on Yuji but could feel his impending death right before dealing the killing blow. It's a side effect of his composition as a Death Painting Womb and of his cursed technique. Choso can feel the death of his brothers and felt the same intense sensation from Yuji's impending death as he did from Eso and Kechizu's. Although Choso has been accepted by Yuji, he still regrets what happened with Eso and Kechizu. He feels responsible for the death of his younger brothers and fears that Yuji will be left alone because of his older brother's foolish choices. Choso initially decided to live as curses because he knew Eso and Kechizu wouldn't be accepted by humanity. Choso now feels as if that was the easy path which in turn ruined a future where the four of them were destined to all fight together. He was very emotional when admitting this to Yuki, who eventually told him to die as a curse so he can live on as a human alongside Yuji. [15] Despite their short time together, Choso was distraught over Yuki's death and did his best to honor her legacy by passing her notes onto Yuji.

To Naoya Zenin) " Whether they’re superior or inferior, older brothers are role models for their younger brothers. An older brother who takes the wrong path shows their younger brothers to avoid it. And if I take the right path, my little brothers can follow behind. What if the reason you’re strong is that your older brothers are weak? You asked why I’m tough. I’ll tell you. It’s because I didn’t have someone to guide me, so I had to make all my own mistakes. Nonetheless, I must walk ahead of my little brothers. That’s why I’m strong." [64] To understand the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings, one must first appreciate the circumstances of their creation. At the beginning of Japan's Meiji Era (roughly the middle of the 19th-century), an unknown woman mysteriously became pregnant with a half-human, half-curse child, leading her to be ostracized from her family. After fleeing from her home, the woman arrived a temple where jujutsu sorcery was practiced — it was at this point that she first met Noritoshi Kamo, arguably the most evil jujutsu sorcerer of all-time. Under Kamo's guidance, the mother of the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings was impregnated nine times, and each time, the heinous jujutsu sorcerer aborted her unborn children, keeping their fetuses for future experimentation. During the Shibuya Incident, despite not being interested in the plan, he was willing to cooperate. However, he had no reason to take lives after Gojo was sealed.
