And what's with all the men reading romance in books at the moment?! Its like some trend, I've seen three books with it in now šŸ˜‚ Is it not enough that Zaf is the perfect man, helping at risks kids deal with their emotions and with toxic masculinity?! *Swoons* Many thanks to Jessica Lyons @ HarperCollins and Edelweiss for my digital ARC, in exchange for an honest review!

I do have to say that Zaf really stole the show for me though! He is the epitome of a soft and grumpy love interest. A big guy, ex rugby player kind of BIG, people are initially intimidated by his size and gruff voice, but deep down? He is a hopeless romantic, an absolute marshmallow. I mean, the guy gives Dani daily protein bars because he knows she doesnā€™t get time to eat in the morning and she always snatches them out of his hands šŸ„ŗ The prose is in third person but we still get to hear the inner monologues of each character. The writing is done extremely well and that just made me love the narrative even more. Ibcould feel every emotion in one chapter, I genuinely believe ots a skill to get the reading feeling like this. As for Dani, well, sheā€™s fantastic! Sheā€™s motivated and determined, sheā€™s blunt and sheā€™s confident, but she also protects her heart at all costs. She values her success in her academic field, and it was so wonderful getting to read about someone who so obviously loved what they did, and was not ashamed to put their focus on their work rather than other places.Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefitsā€”someone who knows the scoreĀ andĀ knows their way around the bedroom. so Zafā€™s dead brother bothered to invade his mind and comment that itā€™s haram to lie but not on Zaf wanting to know the parts of Dani that arenā€™t on display??šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ This was just such a bummer to read. It was so, so repetitive, and it focused on so many things I didnā€™t care about, and I felt like the entire romance was telling not showing, and in the end I just didnā€™t...FEEL anything. Be careful when judging this book by its cover; the cozy, sweet rom-com I expected almost rubbed me wrong with all the Fx, twats, and brash banter in the very first chapter. Donā€™t get me wrong; this was remarkably sweet for such a mouthy book. Did the summary say this was a British contemporary romance? The narratorā€™s accent threw me too. But, once I reset my expectations and settled in, I very much liked this book and will add this author to my reading list.

I'm a coward. I'm lost. I'm addicted to being around you and I don't know what I'll do when it stops. Maybe it shouldn't stop. Let's move on to sex! Now I know these romance novels often discuss sex and use very flowery language around it well this book skips the metaphors. I have never read such intense sex scenes in my life I felt I should of let them know I was there. Graphic and indetail, this is not a book to let tour young daughters read. Its intense to say the least along with their thoughts surrounding what they are thinking that want to do with the other one. Steamy ha. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Get A Life, Chloe Brown, but I really, REALLY enjoyed the second book. This was a brilliant 5 star read for me. I feel like I canā€™t stop talking about this one and I just might not! Thereā€™s also this wonderful conversation about the difference between changing yourself for someone else and someone encouraging you to grow and become a better version of yourself. This is such an important distinction and I was so glad to see it discussed in a romance book, where many times the characters feel the need to change themselves to be with their love interest, which should not be the case!Dani is a literal Queen, a bisexual badass who knows what she wants and goes after that shit. Training for her PHD, Dani is focussed on her academic potential. She knows what she wants (in and outside of the bedroom) and she goes for it and I loved this almost non-apologetic manner that she had! Dani embraced her sexuality and owned herself and it was so empowering to read about. Have you ever started a book, and just known from the beginning that this was going to be a new favorite? Because thats what happened with me and this book. I read Get a Life, Chloe Brown in the beginning of the year, and immediately added Take a Hint, Dani Brown to my TBR without even reading the synopsis. I loved Chloe Brown enough that just by seeing the cover of Dani Brown I was sure I was going to love it. And I was right!

Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Major or minor, if something keeps you human when pressure makes you feel like a volcano, hold on to that thing by whatever means necessary." Zafā€™s palms slid up over her rounded belly, and then his thumbs caressed the sensitive undersides of her breasts. I hope the hint Dani Brown is taking is to stay far away from this review, because I do not, unfortunately, have many nice things to say.

me: brotha Zain, where you at?? this is the best time to get inside his head and remind him what heā€™s doing is haram šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£ Dani Brown is career driven and doesn't want a relationship. Zafir and Dani are friends, but when he rescues her from an elevator and the whole thing ends up on line, things change. Zaf is an ex-Rugby player and they find they could both benefit from fake dating. Even though it is fairly obvious right away that Zaf would love to have more than Dani.I believe what Iā€™m enjoying the most is the wittiness amongst the sisters and Gigi. I love the sisterhood and friendship shown in both books. This second series was just as enjoyable as the first. I love the fact we have this huge man that is Zafir, all physical qualities screams MAN and ALPHA, but he is a huge romanticizing marshmallow. In terms of Dani he is understanding and appreciative of her person. That is so important in a relationship, especially for someone with the insecurities Dani has. She knows who she is yet feels like her personality hinders her from finding love. I can personally relate to that. But when you find a person who loves you, your mind, quirkiness, ā€œfaultsā€& your insecurities, that is a person who sees you. I truly enjoyed their HEA and Dani realization of her capabilities of expressing her love for Zafir. More importantly, Talia Hibbert's effortlessly diverse and representative characters were on display once again. That's a big one. And while this particular book didn't work for me, its predecessor very much did, and I will not for one second be giving up on this series or this author. Or romance, which seems to be the only genre I am able to actually read in this godawful year. GIVE ME LAUGHS AND LOVE.
