A lot of the book is spent travelling by varied means from one side of the States to the other, a journey punctuated by encounters with monsters. We're set up for a big boss-battle on the Mountain of Despair and that's a fun battle with everything from gods and titans to dragons and bi-planes.

The world building and writing style is as good as ever, there is a major improvement between the previous books in the series. The book is so humourous, the way Percy's mind work is so crazy. Grover Underwood: A large-hearted satyr whose favorite foods are aluminum cans and cheese enchiladas. He is 28 years old, yet has the appearance of a teenager due to the satyrs' slower growth rate (half that of humans). He wants to become a searcher for Pan, the satyr god of nature and the wild, who fell into a "deep sleep" due to humans' pollution of the world.I looked at Thalia and Zoë, and I decided it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to die fighting with friends like this. Did I ever tell you how I love the writing style of this series?? The writing style is SO good! It's really funny and the writing style is the first reason I enjoy reading this book. Like how could the author write this perfection?? Seriously, the writing style is so perfect.

This moment was so great because it showed how much those characters love and care about each other even if they occasionally get on each other’s nerves. *lol* It made me sad that Annabeth wasn’t a big part of this story but considering the main plot it was okay that she only played a minor role. Let’s just hope she’ll play a bigger part in “The Battle of the Labyrinth” again. =) And last but not least I want to say how much I love Percy! XDA few months after the events of The Sea of Monsters, during a terrible battle against a Manticore, Annabeth is lost and presumably dead. Afterwards Percy has a dream, and it is revealed that she could still be saved, but at a terrible cost, since someone has to endure the burden of Atlas. A fatal prophecy of the Oracle doesn’t help one bit with their hopes of success. In a desperate quest against time, a group of brave demigods set their way to rescue their missing friend. The character development is astounding, Percy was 12 in the first book and now is 14, you can tell the difference in the ages, he is more mature now and is making decisions 12 yrs old him won't. I love his dedication and loyalty to his friends, he will do anything for them. Annabeth was barely in this book for important reasons. Grover was present and we have the rest of the old characters and some new badass ones, which are girls. This time, Percy's going to need help and he's found two powerful demigods for the job. . .There's just the small problem of the prophecy. The one that has predicted not all of them will survive. They complete the rest of the climb on foot to the Garden of the Hesperides, where Zoë meets her sisters and is poisoned by the dragon, Ladon. They continue to the place where Atlas used to hold up the sky, and they see Artemis taking on his burden. Annabeth is bound and gagged by Luke and Atlas. Realizing that the prophecy made by the Oracle involved him, Percy takes the burden of the Titan's curse from Artemis.

Yes, we still have Percy’s funny remarks but just like the Harry Potter series this series is growing as well. The characters get older and their quests get more dangerous and grim. The stakes are higher and our characters are forced to realize that not everyone can be saved by a hero. For instance we’re barely a few chapters into the book when Annabeth disappears with the enemy. There’s no trace of her left and for all they know she even might be dead. Not that Percy would consider such an outcome! He has to save Annabeth because he just knows that she’s still alive! ;-) So what to do when you’re stranded on a cliff? Right, you call for the sun gods help to hitch a ride. XD REVIEW TO COME TOMORROW. ( that was what I said a few days ago but I still haven't written the review 😭😭😭 hopefully, I'll write it tomorrow )A discussion is held about who is to go on the quest. It is decided that Zoë, Thalia, Bianca, Grover, and Phoebe would go, leaving Percy protesting. When asked whether his determination was due to his desperation to rescue Annabeth, Percy hesitates. In the end, the decision is final and there is nothing he could do to change it. Chiron tries to comfort him. Percy then sends an Iris message to his mother and finds her chatting with Paul Blofis, her new boyfriend. Before the connection is cut, Sally encourages Percy to do what he thinks is right. I looked. And I couldn’t believe it. It was my car. Well, the car I wanted, anyway. A red convertible Maserati Spyder. It was so awesome it glowed. Bianca di Angelo: Bianca is a 12-year-old demigod and the daughter of Hades. She and her ten-year-old brother Nico were trapped in the Lotus Casino, where time is slowed down, but at the beginning of the book, they got out and she attended an army school in Bar Harbor, Maine. She is killed by an automaton during the quest in the "Junkyard of the Gods".
