DCI Brian Kearney of North Wales police said: “Gerald Corrigan was the victim of a barbaric, medieval-style execution in one of the safest parts of the UK. The murder inquiry was formally announced the following day but the macabre details were not revealed for several weeks. Bailey said: “To that sad, twisted broken soul who murdered him, I say if you have an ounce of humanity, any sense of decency then you would tell us now why you have done this. He excelled at art during his time at Ysgol David Hughes, Menai Bridge, and was a few weeks into an art and design course at Coleg Menai when he turned his mind to ritualistic murder. Was a bit thrown by the 4th and 5th going off on a different track with no mention of the original characters other than a quick reference to a crime committed in one of the first books.

I wanted to understand - but understanding was undercut by a sense of the author playing with my emotions. He is hard working, determined, tenacious, stubborn, compassionate and he has a brilliant analytical mind. DI Williams is an intriguing new character, separated and still getting problems with 3 older not very useful sons!

Thank you to Sarah at Book On The Bright Side for the opportunity to participate in this blog tour and for the promotional materials and a free copy of the ebook. Once the pensioner was dead, Hardman made several deep gashes in her legs, and began draining her blood into a small saucepan taken from the kitchen, from which he then drank.

Well written but needs fewer deaths per book and a bit more ordinary life thrown in, do not read going to bed unless you want nightmares. It is gripping right from THAT prologue, I enjoyed the references to the historical murders committed by Peter Moore and the police trying to ascertain the link between now and then…copycat or something more sinister. It is a complex piece of work which interweaves a number of suspicious deaths onto one fabulous read. The book has a dark brooding feel to it, it’s quite atmospheric at times, it was a fiercely enjoyable read and a great introduction to Conrad Jones. He certainly knows how to grab your attention from the start and he dangles enough bait in front of your nose to keep that attention all the way through the book. There was definitely some potential with the story, but splitting the focus between two different sets of crimes felt like the story became quite meandering and never really grabbed your focus. In short, I absolutely loved reading ‘The Anglesey Murders: Unholy Island’ and I would definitely recommend it to other readers.
