which helped launch the system almost four years earlier – a simpler option perhaps, designed for smaller bodies or budgets. It’s fairly sharp in the center and also has very smooth bokeh at f2 but the edges and corners do get a little soft compared to the center. Here is a detailed look at the difference between the new Fujifilm XC 35mm f2 (nifty-fifty) and the higher-end XF 35mm f2. Where that tapper comes in handy is with the optical viewfinder of the X-Pr1 (and hopefully it's successor). It’s one of the few lenses where you don’t have to worry about the aperture and focus changing if you pick the camera up wrong.

How this lens handles lens flare might be seen as positive or negative, depending on if you like flare in your pictures. It sounds like except for the extra shallow depth of field all other pros point to the newer lens for the most part. I want to make a useful video/post for people out there, so I will mention some specs and talk about the lens itself, but this video is mainly about my experiences with the lens, the change in the focal lengthAt high apertures around f16, if you shoot directly into a bright object, you will get some red dot sensor flaring as shown above in the sun star sample. And I can say, I’ve gone back and forth with my 12-element Z 85mm and some of my other lower-element lenses, and the Nikon just doesn’t have the same tonality as some of my other lenses. Both lenses are quite capable of blurring backgrounds, and rendering point sources into satisfying blobs at large apertures or with sharp diffraction spikes at small values. bigger or camera-original © file to explore on your computer (mobile devices rarely display the full resolution data properly).

Please check the sample images below which are captured over a period of time using three different cameras, the Fujifilm X-T1, Fujifilm X-Pro2, and finally the Fujifilm X-T30.meters or 35 cm, so if you are into mid-sized to full face portraits this can do both and anything in between. I have used it in the desert of the United Arab Emirates, on a rainy day in Prague, and never worried about it due to the fact that it is weather-resistant, WR. Years back I did a review on the XF 35mm f2 and never really fell in love with the lens, but it definitely has its place in my setup. A lightweight and compact circular lens hood is included with it and a classical and stylish metal hood LH-XF35-2 is available for purchase as an optional accessory. But in many respects, including centre sharpness, focusing speed and weather-sealing, the newer lens out-guns the old model.

I did say “nearly flawless” in the last paragraph, and if there is one complaint, it’s some obvious pincushion distortion. I tried for a while at various apertures to get the lens to generate the best sample of this but it’s very well controlled. Their lenses so far have seemed to be very fragile / sometimes with poor quality control / and are not durable at all.It also illustrates how far Fujifilm’s come in lens design since the launch of the X-series and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a higher-end 35mm option in the future to properly replace the XF 35mm f1. when software correction is off the table, there’s something about it that makes me love having it on my camera.

The far corners improve as stopped down, optimum at f/8, but nothing in the corners is usually in focus anyway in photos that matter. The intention is to display ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user and thereby more valuable for publishers and third party advertisers. For now only have the 18-55 and an X-E2, do you think the F2 will still be a better option for this camera?I just wanted to finally say thank you for your insight and beautiful examples of the Medium of picture making. If you've used Fujifilm X Mount Lenses, or Fujifilm Camera Bodies for that matter, then you know that a high quality finish is guaranteed. Towards the corners the out of focus highlight circles are no longer round, but the bokeh looks absolutely gorgeously smooth and creamy.
