The fact that everything is gonna go to shit in the next book because of all the loose ends makes me mad. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

Words can be used to hurt others but it can also help us understand their perspective and where the other is coming from. Fesselnde Handlung, spannende Charaktere, geniale Twists und eine faszinierende Magiewelt - die Reihe macht sich auf den Weg, sich zu meinen Fantasy-Lieblingen zu gesellen🤭. The pace felt a bit slower in this one but we have a lot of details and the history we learn about Midas was a stroke of genius that I didn't see coming. Unfortunately, Queen what's-her-face was so unlikable I was wishing the abusive bastard King Midas would succeed in his murder plot. i thought that the H would be THE leading man saving her from all kinds of troubles, but i was wrong.Mist says Midas will officially recognise her baby as his, so it’ll be king or queen when it grows up.

I understand toxic and abusive relationships and maybe if this had actually been written with any ounce of effort it could show that but it just shows a weak and powerless man abusing an extremely powerful woman for NO REASON. We find out that Midas is Barden East, the big bad she was threatened with before she met Midas, and we're supposed to believe that the big master plan of this crime boss turned monarch was to make her love him. We're all aware of this already, but it was interesting to see through his eyes, especially as Auren continued to have her eyes opened to what a monster he is, as well as the power she herself wields.

fans of myths (king midas) and retellings, as well as those who enjoy fae magic, need to pick up this series.

One taste, and if it was an act of selfishness, then you should know, it certainly wasn’t one-sided, Auren. If you fail to comply with this obligation, we may have a right of action against you for compensation. That whole, 'I'm going to play the obedient pet and secretly plot my way out' was BS - she simply tells everyone to f*ck off and then is surprised when there are consequences.

There are once again flashbacks from Auren's past allowing us to get to know even more about her as well as (without spoiler) mentioning something absolutely essential that we'll learn about later. But I regret reading this series, because even though I found Book 1 and 2 to be bad and mediocre at best, everyone said that Book 3 is amazing and will blow me away, but here I am struggling with it for the last six days. Someone who would eventually figure out Auren and King Midas' relationship was not all sunshine and roses but blackmail, abuse and deceit.
