Note on SITA buses: During the busy tourist months SITA buses are often so heavily used that special measures are advised. Most of the paths can be followed easily by people who do not claim to be regular walkers, though committed hikers will like them just the same. We use Google Analytics to see what pages are most visited, and where in the world visitors are visiting from. Segment 36b: From the road bridge over the marina walk east (direction Amalfi) for 600m/yds to a left bend. If boarding the bus at the originating location, usually Amalfi or Sorrento but other locations also, then it can pay to board the bus with a good length of time to spare.

Turn right, to follow the fence (at first) and down a flight of wooden log steps to a junction with a track.Segment 12: A recent landslide (March 2023) blocked the popular path out of Amalfi into the Valley of the Mills. Take a visual tour of the sun-soaked Amalfi Coast with this beautifully curated book that will transport you to the southern Italian destination with every stunning page. She recommends Spring and Autumn for the best time to walk in this area as Summer can be somewhat overpowering as I found out personally whilst there at the end of August when the temperatures were still in the mid-thirties.

Segment 65a: After the ‘superb picnic spot’ (line 14), read: Now follow CAI marks for 100m/yds (towards a lone island)looking for the start of a path descending steeply to the right. As mentioned in the note on p140, the route is no longer completely doable, so be prepared to conclude at the Furore fjord - see p143 exit route to a bus stop. Go right ahead to the next bend, from where a stepped path takes you to a higher road and very shortly to the covered shrine. This slope was badly burned and the wooden handrail have been either badly damaged or burned completely away. The path between Vettica Minore church up the wild hillside to the water supply building at Tovere (east side) is now in serious doubt. If you are visiting the Amalfi coast and would like to include a walk or two whilst on holiday this is certainly a great guide to take with you to enjoy. Segment 1: If you intend going down to the sea-front, the steps down at the far end of the tunnel are closed for repair. In this case after passing an obvious turning to the right, alight immediately in the next Village, Pietre.

Segment 13: Walk planning tip: those wanting an extended walk in the hills flanking the coast could combine this segment with Segment 34 Pogerola to San Lazzaro. Tucked amongst the lemon blossoms and the bougainvillea is a line of thirteen towns that comprise the Amalfi Coast.Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. Known for its vertical landscape, the villages are only accessible via the Strada Statale 163 — a narrow, winding, cli side route that while unsettling to traverse, o ers unparalleled views. I do not think that there is a better publication for those of us who want to explore the ‘real’ countryside of Europe.
