The driver will input your year of birth into their device and may then require an ID check to complete the age verification process. Amaro Nonino Quintessentia was born when, in 1992, fifth-generation sisters Antonella, Cristina, and Elisabetta Nonino replaced the original grappa in the Amaro Carnia recipe with the aged UÈ grape distillate.

An amaro from Nonino, a family-owned company who have been distilling since 1897, Quintessentia is made with herbs and grape eaux-die-vie, aged in Nevers, Limousin and ex-sherry oak. This unique Italian amaro is hard to find, and a level more expensive than other Italian bitter liqueurs in the same family. At The Umbrella Project we’ve always championed local and independent producers, as well as the most traditional and influential products for bar and home use. For the UÈ Grape Distillate, entire grapes (the skin, pulp, and grape juice) are left to ferment in stainless steel tanks with selected yeast, then distilled in a copper batch steam still.

small casks and barriques of different types of wood, among which Nevers, Limousin, Grésigne, and ex-Sherry Oak and Acacia, Wild Cherry and Ash Wood. Amari have become popular additions to Espresso Martini variations like this riff from bartender Beau Bradley, which combines vodka, Mr Black coffee liqueur, Amaro Nonino Quintessentia, sweet pedro ximénez sherry, and simple syrup. The Nonino Distilleries consist of Five Artisanal distilleries, each with 12 copper batch steam stills, one for each member of the family plus a still for each grandchild, as a sign of continuity in the Art of Distillation. You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase and receive wine and spirits in the United Kingdom. Benito and Giannola, respecting the tradition, revolutionize the way of producing and introducing Grappa in Italy and throughout the world.Oddly enough, the German liqueur Jagermeister is has a similar flavor and works great as a substitute. Through uncounted decades, grappa was little more than a cheap, portable form of central heating for peasants in northern Italy.
