Description

The first disc includes the anthems ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Love Shine A Light’ before the massively popular winner ‘Fairytale’ from Alexander Rybak, and dance-floor fillers from Charlotte Perrelli, Gina G, and Dana International. The earlier years of the contest are celebrated on LP5 – with the classic ‘Congratulations’ by Cliff Richard leading the track list. One of the greatest singers ever, Céline Dion won the contest back in 1988 and leads LP3, which also includes ‘Hold Me Now’ from Johnny Logan, and 4 more winning songs from Jamala, Marija Šerifović, Secret Garden, and the first of four 1990’s victors representing Ireland, Eimear Quinn with ‘The Voice’. Celebrate the legacy with 36 songs across 2LPs – LP1 pressed on translucent red, and LP2 pressed on translucent blue vinyl.

But that aside it's still a good collection of songs even if it's a little top heavy with UK entries some of them not our highest scoring entries. A must have for fans who never hunted for import collections which other counties have proudly released for years, pity it took so long here. This is not a bad collection of Eurovision songs at all, although squarely aimed at the UK market - as well as the usual winners, there's a healthy tranche of UK entries in these three discs, from Michael Ball's pure pop 1992 entry "One Step Out Of Time" to largely forgotten recent classics like James Fox' "Hold On To Our Love" and Jessica Garlick's "Come Back" (the UK's highest placed entry in 20 years, of course, until Sam Ryder scored his sensational second place in 2022). L’Oiseau Et L’Enfant’ from Marie Myriam leads into timeless ballads from Anne-Marie David with ‘Wonderful Dream’, and Gigliola Cinquetti with ‘Go (Before You Break My Heart)’, before closing with the timeless ‘All Kinds Of Everything’ from Dana. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Disc 2 opens with a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with ‘Euphoria’, ‘Popular’ from Eric Saade, and 2022’s UK runner-up ‘SPACE MAN’ from Sam Ryder. ABBA with ‘Waterloo’ followed by two of the UK’s all-time favourite winners from Bucks Fizz and Brotherhood Of Man… the first disc includes the anthems ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Love Shine A Light’ before contemporary favourites; Duncan Laurence’s ‘Arcade’, Måns Zelmerlöw with ‘Heroes’ and the stunning ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ from Conchita – plus the massively popular winner ‘Fairytale’ from Alexander Rybak.

The Olsen Brothers’ winner is included, and the disc finishes with 4 more winning songs from Jamala, Marija Šerifović, Secret Garden, and the first of four 1990’s victors representing Ireland, Eimear Quinn with ‘The Voice’. Winners Ruslana, Helena Paparizou and Emmelie De Forest are featured along with favourites from the past decade from The Roop and Eleni Foureira. This compilation brings all of the popular (not necessarily my favourite Eurovision songs) together in one collection. Flip the album over for a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with ‘Euphoria’, ‘Popular’ from Eric Saade, ‘Wild Dances’ from Ruslana, Helena Paparizou and Eleni Foureira. Disc one concludes with KALUSH’s winner from 2022, Barbara Pravi’s ‘Voilà’ from 2021, Netta’s win from 2018, and Salvador Sobral from 2017. This unique 3CD album features 70 of the most memorable songs from the contest's history - including enduring fan favourites alongside massive selling winners. This unique 3 CD album features 70 of the most memorable songs from the contests history – including enduring fan favourites alongside massive selling winners. However there is one glaring omission Celine Dion "Ne partez pas sans moi" 1988 winner for Switzerland, why?

Sandie Shaw’s ‘Puppet On A String’ is up next before timeless ballads from Anne-Marie David with ‘Wonderful Dream’, and Gigliola Cinquetti with ‘Go (Before You Break My Heart)’.

Sadly it’s just a cardboard trifold sleeve, no booklet or pictures, the contest has been quite the visual experience over the years, just to see the fashion and hairstyles over the years would have been fun! LP4 starts with ‘What’s Another Year’ – the first of Johnny Logan’s winners, and Nicole’s victor ‘A Little Peace’… as well as winners from Bobbysocks, Riva, Sandra Kim, Carola, and Corinne Hermès.
