it's a kind of strong old version with Oakmoss and Tree moss among the ingredients, and believe me, it's pure raw male power in this bottle. From the same base, he made some of the most memorable fragrances of the mid-century: when a small bottle of this, his most famous fragrance, arrived in my mailbox, and I could smell this up close for the first time, I could of course link this to its beautiful later flanker Aramis 900, and the close sister scent of that Chant made for Clinique, Aromatics Elixir. Woods, spices and well-worn leather radiate masculinity and vibrate with a powerful, quivering shot of testosterone. I am actually wearing it at the moment and that's the reason I've got the idea of writing this rather negative review. Aramis smells like a boozy, burnt wood mixed with deep, strong brown luxurious leather with a deep undertone of oakmoss.
