We see it as he beings to open up to Emelin – there is so much of him to uncover, and Marshall does it piece by piece, at just the right pace for maximum impact. And I loved watching him fall for Emelin, feeling things for the very first time, and bravely embracing it. It's beautifully written, the fantasy world is well developed and fascinating, and the concept of color-magic is so clever.

This fantasy romance includes most of my favorite tropes however the story felt slow to me which made me lose my focus a few times and I didn't connect with the heroine much. Very hard to read and get into when the first page of every chapter is missing I put if off as a mistake for first chapter and second but as I got more into the story it was harder cause I could be missing something. There are a lot of back and forths between our two lovebirds throughout the book, it adds to the tension between the two. Finally, he was protector, but not an overbearing alpha kind of guy (not enough for my taste to be honest), he just want to support her. Having said that though, the dynamic between Emelin and Creon was perfect - a broody, mysterious bad boy with more to him than meets the eye, and a plucky young heroine who keeps her wits about her and her tongue just as sharp as her mind.A much-used word, karma is loosely understood as a system of checks and balances in our lives, of good actions and bad deeds, of good thoughts and bad intentions. All these creatures: fae, demons, gods, alves, pheonixes, vampires and nymphs - with their own kind of magic.

The tropes used were fun - nothing ground breaking but not annoyingly copied like a lot in the genre recently. He’s the most powerful of his kind, and though he has that broody, cocky arrogance that I love so much in my romantic heroes, he’s also wonderfully witty and he has this quiet vulnerability about him that is absolutely irresistible. Note : Court of Blood and Bindings contains a generous dose of smouldering glances, angry yearning, and midnight meetings of the illicit type, as well as other mature themes.it took me a few pages to really get into it, but once done , I couldn’t put my kindle down to save my life . Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure.

Although I found it a tad long, the plot never really dragged and I immediately picked up the second book in the series. The story starts in Cathra, a human island that has recently installed an iron ward and believes itself to be freed of the Fae dominion. The first book is more of a slow burn but by the 3/4 mark it ignites and gets even better (and more frequent) in book two. Anyway this can be rectified so I can read this properly and give a proper review of the full story. If you like epic adventure, a strong peppering of ‘romantic’ smut, and a broad range of characters that include fae, elves, vampires, pheonixes, etc.

When Lisette isn’t dreaming about gorgeous heroes and sensual heroines, she can usually be found reading about weird history, plotting unrealistic fictional murders or baking way too many chocolate cookies for herself and her boyfriend. The banter is epic, the glances and touches are so meaningful, and I absolutely love the way they handle the way they are feeling. Her struggle is real and understandable, and brings some great drama to the story as it builds to its unpredictable and heart-poundingly exciting climax that had me madly flipping pages, desperate to see how it was going to finish. I liked that he learned the equivalent of ASL in the universe the author created to communicate with her.

the other characters, especially as the world truly blossoms in book 2- you truly fall in love with - flaws and all.The audiobook reflects Rhonda’s own journey and shares the most direct way out for those experiencing hardship and the path to end pain and suffering endured by so many, and it shines a light on a future without anxiety or fear. The people of Japan believe that everyone has an ikigai - a reason for being; the thing that gets you out of bed each morning. It’s a great dynamic from the very beginning, full of aggressive banter and threats of violence, but there’s this underlying attraction that creates delicious chemistry.
