Sunset lives with her model mum, her rockstar dad, her cute celebrity sister and her cute celebrity brother. I’m not usually a fan of stories that blur the line between supernatural and psychotic – is there really something otherworldly going on, or is the main character just crazy? But that’s the point of him, Melanie Golding wants us to feel empathy and sympathy for Lauren and her situation, to make it more believable when the story kicks in and boy doesn’t it just kick in.

When Destiny and her mum attend Danny’s film premiere, Destiny’s secret painfully unfolds – and the step-sisters tentatively discover a genuine friendship. The moving tale is by the brilliant but different author Jacqueline Wilson, who has told several other tales with brilliance and talent.She has been employed in many occupations including farm hand, factory worker, childminder and music teacher. I suppose there wouldn't be any point telling people even if it wasn't a secret, because who would believe me? In terms of this being a mystery thriller, the story actually takes quite a predictable path, so what you think is happening at the start is exactly what it turns out to be, however, it’s also ambiguous and leaves the reader asking questions.

Lauren keeps the otherworldly details about the mysterious woman and her babies-that-are-not-quite-babies to herself. I really enjoyed the family relationships between Destiny and her mum, Sunset and her siblings, and the school drama for Destiny and the talent show. If you are a mom and you have newborns, you shouldn’t read the book, it would definitely make motherhood much harder,extra stressful .It’s an excellent book if you have any interest in fairy tales or faeries (and I mean true faeries – cruel tricksters who prey on human weakness, not sprinkle you with magic dust to make you fly), Irish folklore, or changeling tales. She’s an only child with a sickly but devoted mum who constantly tells her she’s the daughter of a famous Rockstar. It’s not a myth that I really focus on intentionally so I was assuming that It must be common knowledge, but maybe it is lesser known than I thought! Sunset lives in a mansion with her rockstar Dad and her Model mum and her little siblings, she has everything she wants and more. For the reader, the magical influence is obvious; the characters, even Lauren, seem to remain oblivious.

I liked this one, it sort of came out when my Jacqueline Wilson crazed phase was ending, but I bought it anyway. I never stopped wanting to know whether the mysterious woman was real and what would happen to Lauren’s babies. I do love a story based around old myths, tales or legends so was very intrigued when I discovered Little Darlings is just that. Knowing deep down he is right, Lauren takes his advice and takes the now six-week old twins out in their stroller for a walk—a miscalculation that she ends up regretting forever.Her mum is a beautiful ex-model, her dad is a world-famous rock star and her little siblings are celebrities! A terrifying encounter in the middle of the night leaves Lauren convinced someone is trying to steal her new-born twins.
