Description

Kirk doesn’t use a lot of effects pedals other than wah and overdrive. His primary overdrive during the early days of Metallica was the Boss Super Overdrive. He later switched to the Ibanez TS9. Boss Super Overdrive Developed in close collaboration with the man himself, Dunlop have squeezed every inch on tonal know-how from Kirks brain and produced the KH95 Signature Pedal. Meticulously tuned and tweaked to deliver the same iconic wah sound that revolutionized all of Metallica's metal solos, this pedal perfectly emulates that legendary tone that makes Kirk cut through the mix in true Metallica style. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs. Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided.

From the first album right up to today, Kirk has had a TS9 in his rig. He uses the TS9 to tighten up the front end of his guitar amps overdrive channel. This is a common use for this pedal. The TS9 does not have much gain of it’s own, but when put as a boost infront of an already overdriven amp, it gives a very tight and refined metal tone. Dunlop Crybaby Wah If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offeredCollection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty My friends down the street could probably play a better solo than Lux Æterna," he recently said of his lead break on the album's first single, "but what’s the point?” In an interview with Guitar World last year, Hammett discussed the relationship between the wah pedal and his solos, explaining that he doesn't use the effect to write the solos themselves. This yellow box of overdrive fury is one the most famous overdrive pedals out there. It’s very popular as a boost, as it’s very clean at low gain, and gives a really focused and tight boost. It’s got a different character than a tubescreamer, and it’s just as good as any other overdrive. Ibanez TS9 Kirk is known for being the lead guitarist of legendary band Metallica. He’s been in the band since 1983, and can be heard on every single Metallica album to date.

Though folks on the internet – and even his Metallica lead guitar predecessor– have given Hammett plenty of grief about his consistent use of wah, the guitarist simply doesn't care. Kirk has used the wah on a multitude of solos, including Enter Sandman, No Remorse, Master of Puppets and Memory Remains. He uses it on almost every solo, and this what led to the ‘Kirk Wahmmett’ trend. Dunlop KH95 From the early days of Metallica, Kirk had two main pedals that he used that are well documented. Across the Master of Puppets album there is lots of modulation and other effects that can be heard but there are no detailed listings of any of that gear. Kirk most likely used a Chorus pedal of some sort. With the time of the album you can probably assume it was a Boss chorus from the 1980s.

It’s always been after the fact. And it’s only been to get more intensity and more emotion out of the sound.I’m not from, like, the Eric Clapton school of wah, where I step on it on every downbeat. I don’t think anyone really does that anymore, anyway.”
