We use FedEx, DPD and Royal Mail for most of our deliveries. Some large items may come with other trusted 3rd party couriers. I recently bought a coachbuilt racemaster 3.5t that had a relatively low breast bar and no weave bars which my husband has now modified - it was a lot cheaper than buying one perfect to start with and meant we could the strongest /best in other ways (and I was really paranoid about safety). I have one with removable breast bar and double rear doors, so getting the horse out that way would be an option in the case or an emergency. That said, the breast bar is attached internally with antiluce fasteners, so you'd still have to get close to the horse to open the fasteners (unlike the new Ifor Williams type breastbars you can unscrew from the outside of the trailer). Annoyingly I would really like to use it on Saturday, he is getting clipped and it is forecast to be heavy rain. Sadly I fear leaving him in it for a few hours to dry off would result in him becoming a sweaty mess and just as unclippable as him coming in wet! He wasn't hugely happy about loading when I took him to my yard, but did it after a fair few attempts....although I think he was more concerned about his travel boots than the trailer!

Finally re size and weight, unladed with 1/4 tank of petrol my van weighs 2 tonnes exactly. So this gives me 1500kgs to play with, which is loads. That was important for me because when i got it I had a great big ID x, so I don't have any living in mine (cheaper too!). As with our internal stable doors, our external range offers a comprehensive selection from which to choose. Top doors are fully boarded with an optional galvanised sheet lining for enhanced protection. They can incorporate steel grilles or anti-weave bars to further enhance your horses’ wellbeing while boxed. I have recently got a stable for Kev, it's in an american barn style setting, with open bars round the three sides so can see out, a sliding door and an anti-weave grill (as is standard with all the inside stables). He has horses on either side. I think the horse-over-breastbar thing in 3.5t lorries has been blown way out of proportion on the internet. Personally, I've witnessed several incidents of horses going over the breastbar in Ifor Williams-type trailers, and none in 3.5t boxes. Although he is a massive greedy guts (to the point that I will NOT treat him!), sadly when he gets himself worked up he completely ignores food :frown: it is sooooo frustrating! So my plan of giving him an irresistable sugary sweet likit totally failed.....it just got covered in shavings as he box walked in circles around it!

Alongside your choice of Edition, you also have many options available to customise your bespoke horsebox. Loddon stable doors offer a stylish solution for both newly-built equestrian constructions and refurbishment of existing premises. New Loddon stables and barns are fitted with customary size doors as standard. Available in a variety of combinations, our standard size external stable doors may also be the perfect fit for your existing premises.

When I got him vetted he was in a stable (with open sides), had been in there for 3 hours and was munching happily, so I think potentially it is the closed in aspect, even though he can see out of all three sides. Mine has the extra long top half of the ramp, so that the horse can get in and out a lot easier. If you are loading a big horse into the "sqaure" ramp ones I think it's really tight, and you might struggle with a big horse (see www.uniquecoachworks.com for pics of the ramp I mean). The Morpheo is unique in offering a changeable horse area, something not offered by any other horse box on the market. The stall lengths can be adjusted so the horses can stand either with the breast bar and anti-weave grill, or these can be moved to let them stand in a stud stall. Depending on each horse’s preference, the stalls can be set up identically, or in a combination to suits each horse, ensuring a more comfortable and safe journey. I have a 3.5 tonne which I LOVE. It's a Vauxhall Movano van conversion, as when I looked into the van vs the coach built I couldn't really see what you go extra for the extra money..(the chasis are the same, they just cut them down and start again for the coach built ones - or the guy I had mine off does anyway)

Jointing Plate

The other day I decided to try to get him used to it, so took him in, tied him up in the stable, left the door open and generally made a fuss of him. He calmed down with plenty bum scratches and started happily munching on his haynet, so I closed the door half over.....still fine. Then I closed the door completely.....not happy, but eventually settled a bit with plenty bum scratches. So then I went outside and closed the door....not happy and not settling. I can't take the anti-weave grill of either mainly because it's part of the door, and also because I fear he would jump out if I left him in there. The 4-seater Morpheo combines the practical aspects of horse transport with luxury features that emulate travel in a first-class cabin. Features such as an integrated sound system, heated leather seats, mood lighting an even a champagne fridge all combine to create a truly exceptional travel experience. Tactic for the next couple of weeks will be to constantly walk him in and out (treating him while in his stable), and feeding in the stable. Fingers crossed once he associates it with good things like food and treats he will come to like it. I have now started just walking him in and out of the stable to get him over the refusing to go in drama. I just don't know what to do next :frown:
