There are plenty of entertaining anecdotes – I particularly enjoyed the story about the zombie extras who photograph themselves in full make up using the mall's photo booth and then use the resulting pictures to replace the demo pictures of smiling family types on the booth's exterior. Combining this with the new black level, which is rich and deep with magnificent shadow depth, and highlights in the white scale that pop the image out, and you have a picture that is stunning. His work here maybe isn’t as refined as his later work, but this is purely due to the sheer volume of effects in the film. With so many features there is quite a bit of crossover in content but there’s something new in every piece and the cast and crew talk so fondly of their experience on the film that it’s a pleasure to listen to them talk about it each and every time.
