Description

Now you can enjoy high-quality real time effects processing on your Android device no matter whether it’s from Samsung, Sony, Motorola, LG, HTC, Xiaomi, Marshall, or any other popular manufacturer. It’s designed to be used with the AmpliTube UA software, which provides several high quality amp emulations in a stompbox-style interface. But this is no ordinary standard “headphone” jack — it features a high-resolution headphone preamp that optimizes the audio signal for full range playback and monitoring. iRig HD 2 features an unbalanced 1/4" Amp Out jack that you can use to send your processed or unprocessed guitar signal to an external amplifier, floor tuner or completely different rig setup for live performance. And because all of the processing is handled on iRig UA, and not on the Android device, it's able to provide consistent near-zero latency performance (down to 2 ms round-trip total latency) that's independent of the make and model of the connected smartphone or tablet.

IK found that the solution was to move all the processing to the iRig itself so that it could do all the heavy lifting. iRig UA sounds phenomenal and the reason for this is due to its built-in digital signal processor (DSP).you get the full enchilada of amps, effects and cabinets modeled after amps from Orange, Mesa and a set of Jimi’s amps from the days when a legend roamed the earth. iRig UA features a first-of-its-kind built-in digital signal processor (DSP) that solves the issue of inconsistent OS latency on the Android platform. I’ll admit this is boiling down to a vinyl versus MP3 style debate but the heart wants what it wants. Until I can fab up a holster or work up the stomach to affix double sided velcro to the UA along with a strap, I’m just going to use it at home for the time being.

All other product names and images, trademarks and artists names are the property of their respective owners, which are in no way associated or affiliated with IK Multimedia. If you’re a bedroom rocker or someone that wants to branch out to jamming away from home, without a pile of gear to drag around, I’d say absolutely. IK Multimedia has an ongoing promo through July 2016 where you can get AmpliTube 4 Deluxe for free with the purchase of an IK guitar interface. I believe that the choices are 1-12″, 4-10″ with tweeter (bass cabinet) 4-12″ ala Marshall, 4-12″ ala Boogie and 2-12″.

If they aren’t available then your device doesn’t support it, in which case you’re better off getting the iRig UA instead. It's the sort of thing that, when I first started playing guitar many moons ago, I'd have absolutely gone nuts over. Limited or not, class-compliant support means that third parties can finally build audio interfaces for Android that work with a wide range of devices.

If you’re looking to produce music for recording, I’d suggest the iRig HD, which works with Android and PC via the PC version of AmpliTube.

Availability: Android and iOS The iRig Pads is an excellent choice for somebody who wants a low-cost pad controller with a similar feel to MPC-style hardware sequencers. headphone jack with preamp and level control integrated into the unit so you can monitor your recording and playing… even if your device doesn’t feature a headphone jack.

There are numerous ways to model guitar amplifiers, but for the most part companies like IK Multimedia and Positive Grid study the schematics of an amplifier, and try to recreate the behaviour of each individual component, backing up that process with convolution and impulse response modelling. Just get a USB to Micro-USB cable and you'll be ready to play, process and record with the full power of your favorite music creation software. Sometimes and it can only find that with a crappy bass, amp, and a mic that has been through the trenches of touring for a few years.AmpliTube UA features a generous and expandable library of meticulously crafted virtual versions of some of the most coveted gear in music history. There's also a cool 1/8" jack input so that you can connect an external device and jam to your favourite tunes whilst connected to amplitube! That said I’m giving the iRig UA and AmpliTube UA pairing, the Techgage Editor’s Choice Award for bringing a very slick product to a market that desperately needs it.
