However, here the velocity ceiling is 1,300 fps, so isn’t compatible with magnum rimfires (HMR, WMR, WSM) or centrefires. The True Ballistic Radar Chronograph measures actual speeds at four different velocities readings from 0 – 300 yrds to determine actual ballistic coefficient using G1/G7 drag models. In conclusion, FX deserve a heap of credit for introducing a radar chronograph to the airgun market, and the recent upgrade of the app is an important step in the right direction. I have come to the conclusion it seems quite accurate and provided its somewhere between an inch and 3 inch from the end of the muzzle the readings are not affected.

If you have been shooting airguns you should have access to a chronograph to test the health of your gun. In March I showed the new FX Airguns Chronograph, and this video produced more feedback than I have ever had before. I think the FX Chrony is good for measuring barrel velocity, but limitations in the size of the unit and power requirements make it a poor candidate for a BC calulator. Also the take up will be thousands of people so be patient, and yep, this is a first, manufacturers sending updates for free, that's the way to do it!What it can do is use the readings it has, which are the time and the velocity of the pellet moving relative to the radar, to extrapolate the velocity back to time zero and hope the radar is positioned somewhere near the muzzle. Doesn't look like anyone else was having issues so most likely not a software issue, probably something happened to the unit itself. Plus, the export of complete profile and session data to the clipboard; and not having the app drop the Bluetooth connection each time you switch profiles, or open another window on your phone, a small thing, but properly annoying!

Youll happily scrap your old chronograph and easily place this chronograph in your gun case, or just literally slip it into your pocket! The original FX Chronograph changed airguns by providing the most important tool a modern shooter must have, in a compact, portable unit. The shape of the curve fit becomes more critical the further away the pellet is befoe the radar detects it and gives sensible data. This is the digital download for the bracket for the FX Wildcat and FX Maverick to be used with the FX Chronograph Display. Just wondering if anyone out there had experience of this type of chrono , or could offer any advice. The software could wait a specified amount of time and record a second of third doppler frequency data point. I’m interested in getting an FX Chronograph mk2 to be precise, but wondered if they are worth the outlay. I dont feel the FX quiet has this nailed yet and if I bought doppler, it would be labradar as I shoot powder too. FX Vs Combro for accuracy, remember - who is to say which is actually correct, but both can be adjusted, so it's the tracking that is important, not the actual result for this comparison.

Knowing the speed of your projectile when the gun is at its best performance will let you know its primary health. So the best option is to use a Labradar which tracks the pellet through several predetermined distances and gives you BC calculations on the fly. This will give protection to the FX and allow the pellets to court in my pistol target catcher and allow use with rifles or pistols. My only negative comment, even though it states in the instructions that it does, there’s no charging cable supplied. Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously.

Seems very consistent as produced virtually identical readings with same charge and pellet on several consecutive strings. But that cone would be so narrow that the FX Chrono would need to be almost like a scope as far as mounting on the gun to line up with the pellet's path. The final point I made was that put very simply, the Combro will stay still because it is not firmly attached to the rifle - it can slide along the barrel, and will slide along the barrel.
