Our family membership helps you and your kids enjoy special moments together, learning about amazing trees and wildlife. A good, Spooky story, perfect for younger kids. Fast paced, good plot line and kept you engaged in the story the whole way through with a good mystery. Obviously probably would have liked it more when I was younger and will probably let my sons read it when they get older.

Twig Com Ltd. Personal alarms for lone worker safety - Twig Com Ltd.

I was left with some unanswered questions, mostly relating to the people I met near the end of the book. Did the people who were missing age while they were with the Twig Man? How are they going to explain where they’ve been to the police? Given the length of time some of them have been missing, will their parents even still be alive? How are they going to adapt to a world that has changed so much in their absence? “Beware the Twig Man, the Twig Man’s hex. Beware the Twig Man, or you’ll be NEXT!” Thank you so much to NetGalley and Hashtag Press for the opportunity to read this book. I’m rounding up from 3.5 stars. An irresistibly jaunty picture book, spiced with the danger familiar to all those who love The Gruffalo. Julia Donaldson’s rhyming text brings the tale to a satisfying conclusion.” The Guardian Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments This was an interesting story about a Ari whose sister went missing about a year ago and his parents and everyone else thinks that she ran away. Ari doesn't think that is what happened but nobody will listen to him. His parents are very strict with him because of what happened with his sister and he is tired of it and wants to find out what happened to his sister. Essentially, the curse heightened his bleak desires & transformed them from petty thieving to serious criminal activity—kidnapping. All the while, he remains essentially immortal as this half-tree, half-man, & only has to reveal himself every ten (10) years to kidnap a child so that his life force is sustained by draining theirs. Perhaps, this is just me but that doesn’t actually feel like a terrible curse given the alternative—i.e. any semblance of proximity to whatever you might imagine purgatory to be. Again, I am an adult so the details of this story are not targeting me as the ideal consumer but, I have read & adored many a Middle-Grade Horror in my time & therefore hold fast to my questions & confusion. With plenty of screaming and a creepy location, not to mention the potentially true urban legend, this book would have scared me as a kid. It wouldn’t have helped that pretty much everywhere Ari turns, he’s being watched by animals with white eyes. Looking to decorate your learning space for Christmas? Take a look at these Classroom Door Images! What else can I use with this story to aid home learning? It is important to note that the majority of the themes explored in this book deal with sensitive subject matters. My review, therefore, touches on these topics as well. Many people might find the subject matters of the book as well as those detailed in my review overwhelming. I would suggest you steer clear of both if this is the case. Please note that from this point forward I will be writing about matters which contain reflections on the death of a child, the abduction of children & minors, psychological distress, mental illness, grief, the death of a loved one, child endangerment, & others. The plot plays out well. The foreshadowing shares enough to keep you guessing and the mystery keeps you wanting to read more. The story itself is original and well written.

Ari’s parents think Lana ran away but Ari knows better: the Twig Man took her. Legend says if you wander too far into the woods, he’ll snatch you with his roots and drag you into his lair. It's been a year since nearly-twelve-year-old Ari’s older sister, Lana, ran away. Except Ari knows what really happened. She was taken by the Twig Man, the creepy monster that's haunted the woods for one hundred years. No one else will listen, so it's down to Ari to save his sister. But he had better hurry, as Ari finds himself next on The Twig Man's list... Thank you to Hashtag Press and Netgalley for providing me with a digital Arc in exchange for an honest review! Those details aside, I found the characters themselves to be interesting representations of what we may view as familiar entities within our own world. The maternal character in this book is the prime example of what it means to have one’s emotions dictate their approach to life & I appreciated this inclusion. There is a great deal to be said about the parenting style that is adopted throughout this book & I would be remiss if I didn’t say that it made me feel incredibly overwhelmed. This is where further world-building might come into play. The Twig Man, is a creepy monster that' has haunted the woods for one hundred years. No one else will listen to Ari if she tells people what happened to Lana. It all down to her now to find and save her sister. But, she better hurry as she is next on his list!!!Sana is a Kurdish born politics graduate from London who also happens to be a Formula One fanatic that never misses a race and an avid watcher of anything horror-related! Ari’s sister Lana has been missing for over a year, his parents and police think she ran away but Ari believes the Twig Man in the woods has her. When he starts seeing a dead eyed cat and is suddenly drawn into the woods at Lana’s voice calling him. He meets a boy named Timmy who is looking for the Twig Man too and together plan to find him and stop him for food. I enjoy how Ari until you're the only one to believe in this urban legend of stringing however Nan, is also known about the twig man. Information which the boys can use will this research help them save Lana.
