I feel bad for criticising the believability because at the end, the author says she was a Mummy blogger with a drink problem, in the same part of west London. The People on Platform 5 is Clare's second novel, inspired by her fascination with inventing stories about her fellow passengers on her commute to work. Now when I said my honest opinion about author's work, I hope her father (as she warned us in her acknowledgment) won't leave a nasty comment.

My favorite parts were reading the personal entries, penned in the notebook, and shared without worry about who might read their words when the book is next found. brings both honesty and the perfect level of escapism to give you a warm fuzzy glow inside''Feel-good. At the same time, it forms a community of sorts, kindred spirits in need of some kind of support or comfort.

Then, as soon as he was gone, about ten minutes later, she doubled back so that she could read the words on the gravestone. Clare's dark but hilarious memoir, The Sober Diaries, has helped thousands of people around the world to quit drinking. It made me wish Monica’s café was just up the road so I could pop in, join an art class or curl up on a sofa with a book. But when they move to Alaska, still very wild and sparsely populated, Ernt finds a landscape as raw as he is. As their lives intersect more and more, and they all benefit from helping each other, rather than focusing on their own problems.

Little do they realise that such small acts of honesty hold the power to impact all those who discover the notebook and change their lives completely. And what did she actually know about them, with the exception of whether they liked milk in their coffee or sugar with their tea? It’s a a feel-good kind of read, maybe just the thing for the holidays with an original, well-executed storyline. Social media proves that many people like to share their lives and inner thoughts, authentic or not.She prided herself on her adherence to Health and Safety regulations, and climbing the stairs of a moving vehicle seemed an unnecessary risk to take. What led me to seek out this novel was probably a recommendation in connection with another book I enjoyed, but what it was escapes me. She is also touched by Julian story and decides she’s going to bring a little joy and purpose into his life.

If you wanted to pray to a weirdo god or live in a school bus or marry a goose, no one in Alaska was going to say crap to you. In my opinion there were a core group of characters and there were a few that didn't seem completely necessary. Each character has their own imperfections and they are each relatable in their own way, no matter the age difference.

Monica scanned the tables as she walked through the cafe, pausing to pick up a large crumb of red velvet cake from table twelve.
