Each 20ml liquid contains 500mg paracetamol, 200mg guaifenesin and 10mg phenylephrine. Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over should take one 20ml measured dose (or four 5ml spoonfuls) every four hours as necessary. Do not take more than four doses in 24 hours. Guaifenesin is a well known expectorant. Such expectorants are known to increase the volume of secretions in the respiratory tract and therefore to facilitate their removal by cilary action and coughing. Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with the ingredients of Beechams all in one. Just because a side effect is stated here doesn't mean that all people using Beechams all in one will experience that or any side effect. If you have a stinking cold, you might consider using Beechams all in one to relieve your symptoms. Contains paracetamol. Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to. If you do not get better, talk to your doctor. Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine. Talk to a doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well. There are many other cold and flu and cough remedies available to buy without a prescription. Many of these will also contain paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride and guaifenesin among their ingredients. If you take Beechams all in one in the hour before or the six hours after taking colestyramine, the paracetamol is likely to be less effective. This is because colestyramine reduces the absorption of paracetamol from the gut.Phenylephrine overdosage is likely to result in effects similar to those listed under adverse reactions. Additional symptoms may include irritability, restlessness, hypertension and possibly reflux brachycardia. In severe cases confusion, hallucinations, seizures and arrhythmias may occur. However the amount required to produce serious phenylephrine toxicity would be greater than required to cause paracetamol-related liver toxicity. It's fine to take Beechams all in one with plain ibuprofen or aspirin (assuming these are appropriate for you). However, don't take it with co-codamol, co-dydramol or Tramacet because these contain paracetamol. not go away, and sometimes death. Get medical help right away if you have signs like red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin (with or without Patients suffering from chronic cough or asthma should consult a physician before taking this product.

Do not take the medicine continuously for longer than five days without consulting a doctor. If your symptoms don't go away or get worse despite taking this medicine, ask your pharmacist for advice. Side effects: See SPC for full details. Hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis, skin rashes, angioedema, SJS and toxic epidermal necrolysis. Bronchospasm, hepatic dysfunction, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, nervousness, irritability, restlessness, excitability, headache, dizziness, insomnia, increased blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, mydriasis, acute angle closure glaucoma, tachycardia, palpitations, dysuria and urinary retention. Flu Plus Hot Lemon only: diarrhoea. The anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other coumarins may be enhanced by prolonged regular daily use of paracetamol with increased risk of bleeding; occasional doses have no significant effect. Liver damage is possible in adults who have taken 10 g or more of paracetamol. Ingestion of 5 g or more of paracetamol may lead to liver damage if the patient has risk factors (see below). Warnings and Precautions: Patients should be advised not to take other paracetamol-containing products concurrently, especially those with non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease. Do not take with other sympathomimetics, decongestants or cold and flu medicines should be avoided. Medical advice should be sought before using this product in patients with an enlargement of the prostate gland, glutathione depletion due to metabolic deficiencies, occlusive vascular disease, and cardiovascular disease. Excessive intake of caffeine should be avoided. Patients who are taking warfarin should seek medical advice before taking this product. Contains sunset yellow/ amaranth (E110) which may cause an allergic reaction. Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose. If you're taking medicines for high blood pressure you shouldn't take Beechams all in one, because the decongestant may make your blood pressure medicine less effective.
