Servo Wave essentially enables the pads to close on the rotor more easily in the earlier parts of the throw, before offering more modulation as you squeeze harder. You can buy these parts either as a kit of two shift levers and brake calipers or buy everything separately. The bottle goes in carefully pushing the delicate cables out of harms way, top or bottom, it's up to you You can then use the up and down rear mech shift levers to micro-adjust the position of your derailleur as you spin the cranks. Once you’ve got your rear mech running sweetly, press the junction box/controller button again to exit adjustment mode. That's partly the reason Easton has avoided the full internal routing that comes with its aero bars. The focus here is a durable lightweight design at a respectable price, which Easton has achieved.

Externally, the 105 Di2 R7100 front derailleur shell is larger than the higher-tier models – for all intents and purposes, it’s the same as the previous generation Dura-Ace Di2 R9150 and Ultegra Di2 R8070 groupsets. This means there’s no cable routing to worry about from the shifters to the derailleur and battery system.the clearance is less than 2mm on the radius. I'm guessing you have a steel BB shell; I don't think it would hurt to make a shallow groove in the lower part of the shell (after all some are slotted), but Type 5 Port Triple has one large hole allowing you to run up to 3 cables internally through the frame. To cut a long story/rant short, I have a lovely frame that I built myself, but it has a BSA BB shell rather than the T47 that I wanted. This means that I am not sure that my cranks with a 30mm spindle will safely fit along with the Di2 cables that will need to go through the BB shell. The BB (Easton) has a plastic sleeve that would stop the spindle rubbing against the cables, but my initial fitting suggests that I'm really going to struggle to fit that (or even the spindle without the sleeve) with the cables in place.

Type 5 Port Hose and Gear has two holes, one for 4mm gear outer and one for a hydraulic hose, both run internally through the frame. Barring a few small exceptions, 105 Di2 R7100 performs almost identically to Ultegra and Dura-Ace. Ashley Quinlan / Our Media Type 4 Port Two Cable has two holes, both allowing you to run 4mm gear outer and/or 5mm brake outer cable internally through the frame. The incidence of this is noticeably reduced versus the previous 105 R7020 calipers, but still not dialled out completely.

You can still build a budget-friendly 105 Di2 rim brake bike - you’ll have to use the Ultegra or Dura-Ace shifters. You will probably also need to use the SM-JC40 external junction B instead of the regular internal junction B (SM-JC41). No junction BA modern Di2 battery will last between 2000 and 5000 kilometers per charge. This depends a bit on how often you shift and also your shifting style. The front derailleur has to work harder than the rear derailleur and therefore also consumes more energy. If your bike is an 11-speed or 10-speed road bike, and you have the EW-WU111/101 Wireless Unit wireless module - just hook your bike up to your bike computer and look up the battery charge level on your Wahoo/Garmin/other bike computer.

For each wire, measure the length of the frame sections it has to pass through and write down the required length Shimano’s E-Tube Project app connects to the system just like the Dura-Ace and Ultegra Di2 groupsets, offering indexing and limit setting functionality, and more. Length is critical if you don't want it to spin, so measure the width of the BB and subtract the depth of both bearing threaded bits. mine was 68.5mm -15.5mm -15.5mm = 37.5mm For my 1X cyclo-cross bike with my rear brake in my right hand, the cable can be run under the bar tape and then along the hydraulic brake hose using heat shrink tubing to keep things tidy. But for proper Di2 integration, look elsewhere. As long as all Di2 ports have either Di2 wires or dummy plugs in them, they're pretty water-resistant. Wire lengths depend on the size of your frame. You’ll have to measure the frame sections the wires run through to determine the correct length. Can’t decide between two lengths? Then choose the longer one – you’ll be able to hide excess wire inside your frame. When in doubt, choose a slightly longer wire than you think you need. All wires cost roughly the same, and having a wire that is slightly too long is not a problem - excess wire can be hidden in the frame.
