Ryat Alexander Archer is part of the L.O.R.D.S of Barrington University. No one knows that the L.O.R.D.S exist, and that they pretty much rule the world. Ryat is given a mission, and that mission is to make Blakely his chosen one. Ryat wants Blakely, not just as his chosen one but for the rest of his life. He will do anything it takes to make that happen no matter what. Ryat is possessive, protective, and the mouth on this man is EVERYTHING. He will do whatever he can no matter what it is for Blakely. The overall story. I love when a dark romance also has an amazing plot and this book delivered just that. I loved the store in between the spicy scenes. It kept me even more invested in the book. THEN, once the author places the FL in jeopardy, she has to work out how these two are going to find each other to achieve that obligatory HEA…

I had high hopes for Lake, I thought she was a strong character in the beginning, and there were times that she showed or thought of it and cheered her on. I really supported her. She really had gone through a lot, and it’s pretty understandable since she’s traumatized. In the end, I feel sorry for her. I do read about dubcon and… I love degradation, but as a cliche for me to say this, I guess for me I didn’t feel an authentic connection between both characters. (Maybe that’s just me). The way their relationship began was questionable, and I didn’t support it. In my head, I guess I kept second-guessing their relationship, but then again, it may be just me. However, they kind of both worked it out in the end. Still, there are several authors that have influenced her writing career the most. Some of the most influential of these include J. Sterling, Colleen Hoover, Teresa Mummert, and Abbi Glines. People think growing up with money is freeing, but I promise you, it’s not. My entire life has been planned out for me. I never got the chance to do what I wanted until Ryat Alexander Archer came along and gave me an option for a better life. He offered me what no one else ever had—freedom. I'm tired of reading about fmcs who r treated like shit yet secretly enjoy all the nasty stuff that's done to them. Like yes i like me some dubcon situation and all that but when it's the same deal with all the lords, things get monotonous at this point.I chose to be his. He made me believe that anyway, but it was just another lie. A way that the Lords manipulate you into doing what they want. Things to know about The RitualIt is MFTW (Please see the author's note on the inside)J/P & OTT Hero (jealous/possessive & over the top)This is a 150K word dark romance and may contain triggers for some due to sexual situations, language, and violence. Tropes: Alphahole, Arranged Marriage, Forbidden, Jealous/Possessive, MINE!, Revenge, Secret Society, Touch-Her-and-💀, Virgin h In short, I thought there were a ton of disconnects. Between the plot, the characters, the build up. There were multiple scenes that I thought didn’t make sense in relation to the book. I won’t say how I would have liked the characters to be, because this is not my work and I respect that this is how Shantel envisioned her characters, but for me, it was a miss. Needless to say, it was hard for me to finish this book. It wasn’t keeping my attention. Which really was a let down for me, because I was ready for Tyson.

But I am here for Carnage and the Spade brothers. Obsessed with this world and with all the epilogues with their kids it’s got me excited for the next gen! Like dominoes, everything started falling down around her. Her mother happens to be down with cancer which has kept her bedridden for months. As such, at such a critical time she finds herself all alone with her troubles. I give this book five stars and can’t wait to read more from Shantel Tessier. I’ve already added all her books to my TBR and will make time to read them all. =) I can’t wait for The Sinner,a book set in this book but can be read as a standalone. I’m all for it!! I wonder if the MMC in that book can top Ryat, though. He’s on the list of unforgettable MMCs, and Blakely is on the list of favorite FMCs.Only two things that weren't really for me was pregnancy trope (just my preference) and I felt the book was perhaps abit too long, though I guess there wouldn't have been as many smutty scenes lol

While Shantel is passionate about writing, the family will always come first. As such, she spends most evenings at home with her daughters and her husband alongside their dog and cat. Shantel Tessier is a Wall Street Journal and the USA Today bestselling author that is best known for her “Undescribable” series of novels. Read this book if you want to read a dark romance, with a secret society, an amazing plot, excellent character development, and relatable characters. You have Laikin Minson who is one of my favorite FMCs honestly. She manages to be badass while also being forced to marry Tyson, her sister's ex-boyfriend and alleged "murderer". I mean the dining scene alone is a perfect example of that and it is one of my favorite scenes of all time honestly. For starters, why did Whitney hate Lake so much? And Luke, what was his deal? And why were so many people more loyal to Luke than Tyson? What was he offering them? And the father... it was all a bit messy (or a lot). She loves and loved to read and could read up to a book a day and hence, books have been a constant feature in her life over the years. The more she read, the more she felt that she needed to touch readers just like she had been touched.

Every time i thought i had things figured out there was something else that comes to light which throws you for another loop and ruins everything you thought you knew. Going by the cover and the blurb to this book, it appeared, on the surface, to have all the elements that I look for in a Dark Romance. When she began writing “Undescribable,” it was a small idea that would become a dream. He got the inspiration for the “Undescribable” series from an idea that had been marinating in her mind for a few years. The Ritual and Sabotage remain my favourites. I have unresolved issues with The Sinner but I like The Sacrifice even though: Having been playing the long game, Tyson puts his revenge plan into motion when he disrupts the wedding of his unsuspecting Little Darling. The author was born in Texas but now makes her home in Tulsa Oklahoma where she lives with her husband. She met her supportive and wonderful husband while they were both in high school and they now have two kids. Would I recommend this book? Yes. Remember, this is a work of fiction. I’m only recommending this to readers that can handle Dark College Romances that can handle the dark elements in this book. This book has many triggers; I’ve listed them in my review, and the author has them in the book. If you are like me and love these books where you have a sadist OTT J/P MMC with FMC is a masochist, this book is for you. A secret Society: ‘The Lords’ that trains its male members up as if they are going into ‘The Hunger Games,’ sends them out on missions to take down ex communicated old members who betray their secret oath, plus others.
