Description

I’d prefer if it featured a few more handles and some more tool-specific pockets, but those features could also be a matter of preference. It includes a single-cycle crimp and flush trim, and connectors lock into the tool for correct positioning during crimp. It features an ergonomic handle, adjustable straps and back protection and can be used as a backpack.

There’s only one good way to test a tool bag, and that’s by loading it up with a typical collection of DIY tools and putting it through the paces—which is exactly what I did. They’re available everywhere, even if they do update their range so often, you can never find the same one twice. While extremely affordable, Husky tool bags may not be as durable, so they will need to be replaced more often. The standard that I use to determine whether or not a tool bag is good for the long term is the crawl space test. Since this bag has wheels, the test also involved extending the handle, rolling the bag to the vehicle, closing the handle, lifting the bag into the vehicle, and repeating the process. Why are Husky tool bags so popular with contractors, service techs, maintenance techs, and other such pros? It attaches to a body belt or harness using connection straps that are equipped with plastic quick-lock buckles. There are 19 double-stitched pockets, and the steel-formed handle with foam-molded grip swings out of the way for tool access. Materials vary from bag to bag, but most are made from 600 Denier heavy-duty polyester or a rugged canvas cloth material.

The Husky tool bag is the upgrade pick, so it’s obviously going to cost more than many other tool bag models. I liked that the pockets themselves are deep and will hold tools securely, and the front hook-and-loop closure pocket is perfect for smaller bits and drivers. There are grommets on the outer flap for hanging the bag, and the padded mesh shoulder straps offer protection and carrying comfort. It holds more than I really want to walk around with and everything is very well laid out and accessible.Husky bags feature both internal pockets and external pocket tool storage, leaving the main bag space open for larger tools. open tool carrier features an ABS plastic molded handle with a center alignment that enables balanced carrying.

If you’re an electrician or plumber, or even a DIY enthusiast, the D-Bag will be your new favorite gadget. There’s even two small pouches that can fit small terminating screwdrivers, pens, pencils, markers, or drill bits on the top flaps. It may cost you more than a Husky tool bag, but the D-Bag comes with great storage capabilities, ergonomic features, and long-lasting, durable construction that will protect your tools and equipment. The large opening gives access to equipment, including two pockets in the inner flap and a large side pocket.

This center compartment can also hold several long-handled hammers, a few speed squares, a drill driver, an impact driver or hammer drill, and even a spare battery or two. Years ago I used a Bucket Boss bag for quite a while, increasingly frustrated that the sides collapsed and whatever I needed was somehow always at the bottom. An extra set of handles and maybe some smaller pockets would increase the functionality, but their absence doesn’t take away from the value and convenience this bag offers. I found that one downside is that the pockets are all a general uniform size, so there are no obvious slots for screwdrivers, pencils, or other smaller tools.

There are side pockets designed to hold hand tools, flashlights, multimeters, or anything that you’d want to have quick access to. Plus when you pull the handle up it’s large enough to hold more bags on top of it if you also had a technician backpack or any other bags to carry. Some of the them wind up on sale every 3 or 4 months it seems, at such steep discounts that it’s almost a no-brainer to pick up a few. Once open, the bag’s design allows the center compartment to stay open, so I could see into the bag to reach in and grab a tool with one hand.

Other than some of my longer tools like pry bars and handsaws, it held just about every hand tool imaginable for a DIY kit, as well as most power tools.
