Running Gag: In the '90s, a new character trait appeared where she developed "new philosophies". But the "philosophies" are actually just common phrases such as "Who cares?", "Oh, yeah? That's what you think!", "No!", "Waddya think?", and "I can't stand it!". These strips inspired the song in the 1999 revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown that would end up winning Kristin Chenoweth her first Tony Award, "My New Philosophy". Innocent Prodigy: Former Trope Namer. He has great insight into some situations and a very high intellect such as being able to precisely quote any passage of Biblical scripture, but he also believed in the Great Pumpkin, which brought him ridicule despite his intelligence. He's an average student at best. And he hates to be separated from his beloved blue blanket. Early Installment Character-Design Difference: His trademark dust cloud didn't show up for a couple of years.

Snoopy, Charlie Brown Lucy van Pelt Snoopy Linus van Pelt Franklin, snoopy house, child, friendship, toddler png 530x478px 305.29KB Early-Bird Cameo: She first appeared in 1966 and made it into A Boy Named Charlie Brown, but didn't become a major character in the strip until the 1970s. Rich Bitch: Implied rather than outright stated, but her family seems to be considerably well-off – certainly more so than the Brown family – and she seldom passes up a chance to lord her social superiority over the other kids.Charlie Brown and Snoopy artwork, Lucy van Pelt Schroeder Snoopy Charlie Brown Patty, 60th, child, people, friendship png 4844x2196px 6.51MB

Tomboyish Ponytail: Drawn with a ponytail in her later years, but not so tomboyish. The one time she had no ponytail ◊, she became extremely irritable. Annoying Younger Sibling: Charlie Brown tries to be understanding, but he loses his patience with her sometimes. Charlie Brown's one true love, so-called since she has red hair, though he's too spineless to come out and admit it to her. First referenced in 1961.You can print this Snoopy sheet for your little one and ask them to color it while imagining what it would be like to dance next to Snoopy. Sally: [to Linus] I'm looking up all the Scriptures that warn us about false prophets. Jeremiah, Matthew, Luke, John... I think you're off the hook. I'm almost to the end, and I haven't come across your name. (November 5, 1977 strip)

Depending on the Writer: Her knowing if Snoopy is a dog or not. Most of the time, she doesn't and thinks of him as "the funny looking kid with the big nose", though sometimes, she does know that Snoopy is a dog, as seen from a scene in The Peanuts Movie and " Life's a Circus, Charlie Brown". Karma Houdini Warranty: Lucy often gets away with her more petty acts of bullying and obnoxiousness, but every now and then will be the butt of a joke herself. She frequently gets outplayed when she tries to antagonize Snoopy. Named by the Adaptation: Heather in the TV show, and the movie gives her the full name of Heather Wold. Implied Love Interest: In ''Why, Charlie Brown, Why?'', he's strongly shown to be smitten with his friend Janice, such as when he hugs her before he leaves the hospital, enjoys her company, and defends her from a Jerkass bully.

Memes

Comedic Sociopathy: When Lucy needs to solve a problem, she shouts. If shouting doesn't work, she uses her fists. If fists don't work, she uses her feet. Snoopy illustration, Snoopy! The Musical Charlie Brown, snoopy, comics, white, hand png 500x500px 978.69KB Snoopy illustration, Snoopy Charlie Brown Frieda Peanuts, Snoopy s Free, mammal, carnivoran, hand png 750x625px 131.71KB Better the Devil You Know: He much prefers Lucy hanging around his piano than Frieda; the first time she did, she thought Beethoven was a drink.

The Ace: If it's even vaguely related to sports or physical activity, Peppermint Patty can do it better than anyone — except maybe Snoopy. She's always capable of trying new things, and she exudes a constant confidence to match. On the other hand, she's Book Dumb and her confidence isn't quite as boundless as it seems. When it comes to her and her siblings, however, she's the mean to Rerun's nice and Linus's in-between. Not So Above It All: One Sunday strip, from October 24, 1965, shows Linus writing another letter to The Great Pumpkin with Lucy right by his side the whole time criticizing him. But in the final panel, after Linus mails the letter and walks off, Lucy asks "Did you tell him I've tried to be good, too?" Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Lucy often makes wild, ridiculous claims and then laughs Charlie Brown to scorn for talking sense. This bothers him to the point of feeling terribly ill. The song "Little Known Facts" from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown covers how seemingly uneducated Lucy is. Took a Level in Dumbass: Got less and less smart as the strip went on. This makes her insults of her brother's intelligence both hypocritical and ironic.

Character Derailment/ Flanderization: Peggy provides an accidental example. She started off as a (slightly) tomboyish character but was changed to a more feminine character in Snoopy's Town Tale. Ear-Piercing Plot: In one arc, Lucy and Peppermint Patty wanted to get their ears pierced, and Marcie was a big help, telling them about all the dangers of getting that done by an unskilled amateur; Patty almost freaked when Marcie mentioned a penicillin shot. Did you know that Snoopy’s birthday is believed to be on August 10, 1968? It would take him over 50 years old now. That’s a lot in dog years, right? Yet, he still looks far from being this old. In a 1970 strip, Schroeder used the promise of this to bait-and-switch Lucy, announcing he was going to kiss her on the nose but then having his "representative" (Snoopy) deliver the kiss instead, much to Lucy's horror.
