Description

The only mention of Atlantis by name in historical texts is in Plato’s Dialogues (written around 360 B.C.), which gives dozens of precise details about what Atlantis looked like, and where it may have been located in relation to other landmarks in the ancient world. It was this level of detail that has set many people off thinking that Atlantis actually existed. Exceptional accumulations of Acheulean artefacts, or stone spears and tools, of undetermined age and origin were found at the Richat Structure. That these were generally absent at its innermost depressions has been taken to indicate that the area was only used for short-term stone tool manufacturing and hunting, but this finding would also fit with the description that the outer circle was largely inhabited by working citizens and soldiers, with Atlantian Royalty in the middle. 8. Sub-Saharan DNA from a previously unknown ancient population

Plato described Atlantis in the Critias and Timaeus dialogues 2,400 years ago. With the information previously passed on through generations by word of mouth, his are the most detailed accounts of the legendary Atlantis. These stark claims have helped the series reach the top of viewing lists on both sides of the Atlantic, to the chagrin of archaeologists who, for their part, have denounced Ancient Apocalypse on the grounds that it provides little evidence to support its grandiose claims and for promoting conspiracy theories dressed up as science. Now, even Bright Insight admits that the Eye of the Sahara is a natural structure, and claims that the Atlantians built their city into the natural formation. This very idea is questioned by Steven Novela on the Neoroligica blog, who rebuts Bright’s Insight’s arguments one by one.

Also, here are some interesting coordinates you can look at on Google Earth that show what looks like remnants of structures if you’re interested. is the sum of years since the war occurred, as is recorded, between the [Atlantean] dwellers beyond the pillars of Heracles [the Strait of Gibraltar] and all that dwelt within them." The most interesting part of this is King Atlas. Interestingly enough, there was also a King Atlas of the Mauri people that occupied Mauritania and other areas nearby. Though he’s technically a legend, he is commonly mentioned as the first King of Mauritania. Articles about King Atlas of Mauritania don’t mention King Atlas of Atlantis. Acheulean tools were produced during the Lower Palaeolithic era across Africa and much of West Asia, South Asia, East Asia and Europe, first developed about 1.76 million years ago and derived from the more primitive Oldowan technology associated with Homo habilis.

Socrates said, “Everything I had done hinged on the truth or falsity of a statement about truth or falsity.” Explain.

Many conspiracists and documentaries, including Jimmy Corsetti of Bright Insight, have attempted to link the Richat structure with the lost city of Atlantis ruins, described by Plato in 360 BCE. Plato described Atlantis with circles dividing land and water, i.e., concentric rings and Richat structure may appear as ruins. First and foremost, many believe that Plato’s Atlantis is a fictional place, conceived by Plato as an allegory on the hubris (or arrogance) of nations. In which case, Atlantis wouldn’t have existed anywhere, let alone in the Sahara Desert. Jose Maria Galan worked at Doñana National Park [on the southern coast of Spain]. He took me out to the shore there and said: “In the summer, you’ll see thousands of people lying out on the beach. Now imagine that there’s a wave 60 meters high coming in, and you can see how a civilization could get wiped out right away.” This video shows what Richat structure is and its formation, which will give you a hint on understanding it more, including how it formed. 1. Earlier symmetric dome erosion theory This power came forth out of the Atlantic Ocean … an island larger than Libya and Asia put together … Now in this island of Atlantis, there was a great and wonderful empire which had rule over the whole island and several others, and over parts of the continent.”

Oral story telling is not even one tenth as unreliable as people assume with the false analogy of the game of telephone. A recent theory states that the Richat structure formed around 100Ma as the Pangea subcontinent separated, creating Africa, South America, and the Atlantic Ocean. Lithostratigraphy correlation has shown it. During this plate tectonic movement process, massive volcanic activities involved a Cretaceous age complex of alkaline igneous magma. The location of the Eye (Athens and Egypt): The Richat Structure is geographically well related to places associated with Plato’s Atlantis. The Mediterranean Sea lies to the north of Africa, and the Atlantean navy is said to have besieged ancient Athens on its shores. Over in north-east Africa lies Egypt, from where Plato apparently received his information (via Solon) about Atlantis. It has also been suggested that Egypt used to be a colony of Atlantis. Thus far, it’s all looking promising. The canal that runs through all the walls to the inner structure and connects the rings, according to Plato. SourceWagner also puts forward some other interesting claims, including that many elephant bones have been found near the Eye, in line with Plato’s report of an abundance of elephants, and many other animals, on Atlantis (we at Earthly Mission could not find any traces of that evidence online), or that fresh water flowed from the center island of Atlantis, which also exists in the center circle of the Richat Structure (evidence is also hardly available in this regard).

With oral story telling, the goal isn’t to transmit daily events but rather the morals, stories and traditions of the people. This was done by a caste of people for whom this was their primary role and often their status in such caste was determined by their ability to convey those stories accurately, where one elder / priest etc making an error would most often be corrected by others. Considering such tellings also tended to include survival critical information aswell such as crop cycles et cetera, errors would result in real penalties for errors. Regarding the YouTube channel’s primary ‘piece of evidence’, according to which the Richat structure is a series of concentric rings that precisely matches Plato’s description of Atlantis, Novela points out that the simple fact that both are concentric rings is not unlikely at all, and since the rings are not discrete and not complete in places, it’s unclear how water would have filled the structure.Other common names:The Eye of the Sahara, Blue Eye of the Sahara, Earth’s Eye or Eye of Africa, Eye of Mauritania, and Bull’s Eye of the Sahara. Laughs] I was writing the Machu Picchu book, and I read this headline in the New York Times: “German discovers Atlantis in Africa.” I was like, what? The fact that someone could actually search for Atlantis and be taken seriously was weird.
