I highly recommend you to read entire books of the series and leave this one for the last! ( you gotta save the best for the last) The author’s realistic approach to mental health issues is so inspirational and helpful. Don’t miss this series! Dear Mazey Eddings did amazing job by writing this debut! She already earned a great fan ( me! Me and me! ) I’m looking forward to read her future works! Indira made sure to slam the door behind her as she went, then flew down the stairs and out to the street. It took her a few minutes of wandering to remember what random-ass side street she’d parked on, but she eventually found her car. Thank you to the publisher, St. Martin's Griffin and Macmillan Audio, for providing me with copies to read and review. I did listen to the audiobook and it was absolutely fantastic. I definitely recommend that format to Readers who enjoy audiobooks.

The Plus One felt a little heavier than Mazey’s past books, but I enjoyed it just as much. All of her books confront mental health, but The Plus One took a close look at anxiety and PTSD. It felt very relatable and meaningful, compared to the more lighthearted feel of the previous books in the series. I love that Mazey’s writing talent is so expansive! indira is definitely my favorite character from this little companion series, partially because she’s the one i relate to the most, but also because she’s just such an amazing character in general. she’s witty and fun, not afraid to speak her mind while still managing to be respectful, and overall just has so much love to give for the people in her life. i truly adored her. and jude, ohhh jude. it was very hard to read his chapters sometimes because of how truly broken and sad this boy was, but once indira crashed her way through, seeing him become happy and hopeful was just so ridiculously sweet. i was rooting for him since he was first introduced. i loved that mental health was an important aspect of their relationship and that they were both working on becoming better for themselves. I loved seeing the shift in their relationship and how their thoughts of one another slowly changed. From frenemies to tentative friends to an inseparable bond to lovers. How they started to lean on each other for support and seeing them fall in love was the absolute best! Thank you to St. Martin's, NetGalley, and the author for my early review copy. While Mazey is a dear friend, my love of this novel and my appreciation of her storytelling and craft was in no way influenced by our relationship; all opinions are fully my own! Even though this is cute and funny though, that's not all it is. Both Harper and Dan had great depth of character with some hard-hitting story lines in their past.

Publication Order of Standalone Novels

With many pre-wedding events planned and the actual event itself looming on the horizon, she's rattled with anxiety, how can she possibly face him?! It's going to be awful. Get a cat, they said. It’ll be fun, they said,” Indira muttered to herself. They primarily being Harper, who had enabled Indira’s impulse decision to adopt a furry companion to fill the dull and gnawing sense of loneliness that hit Indira regularly.

Childhood frenemies find that they have a lot in common when they reconnect as doctors trying hard to heal themselves. My only criticism is that there were times were the story seemed to drag just a bit, and therefore might have been just a tad too long. Otherwise, I think this is a really great romcom with a lot of emotional depth and I highly recommend both the book and the series. The next sparkling and swoony enemies-to-lovers rom-com from the author of the TikTok-hit A Brush with Love and Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake. There are trigger warnings mentioned in the beginning of the book which was helpful to understand the depth of Jude’s detachment. I admired Indira for her support and stance to Jude. Yes, she had training but her words are heartfelt. Indira has a great job and apartment but has her life turned upside down when she comes home and catches her boyfriend cheating on her. She moves in with her brother before his wedding while looking for a new place to live. That would require you to be one, Chris. And from where I’m standing, you’re a cheating, cat-imprisoning man-child with the emotional intelligence of a rusty nail. So, no. I won’t be calming down.”

Eddings did a great job balancing the humor with serious, real-life issues that many Readers will be able to relate to. Indira and Jude had some great banter and tension, and there were some extremely hot open door scenes 🔥

indira is a psychiatrist and her older brother's best friend jude is a trauma doctor treating emergencies and humanitarian crises across the world. i loved indira and jude so much. the fact that mazy eddings has me loving a character named jude...that's how you know she's powerful. Indira runs hot and cold. She's snarky (and not the kind that I like) and in the same breath can be soft and gentle. I am getting whiplash. five stars! ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ oooh, this was literally everything. i think the fact that i related to both indira and jude a little too much means i definitely need to be finding a therapist soon, though…

Indira darted to the bedroom, ripping through the closet and grabbing any bags she could find. She moved like an efficient tornado, shoving shoes and chargers and shirts into duffel bags as she went. This book was so inspirational and beautiful. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an emotional read with SO much heart and healing. A Brush With Love series #3. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone. 5e epilogue does wrap up all three relationships of the series.Besides Grammy’s continuous wailing, a piercing silence fell between everyone as they continued to stare at each other. I don’t know how she does it, but somehow every book Mazey Eddings writes becomes my new favorite. It’s impossible not to fall in love with Jude and Indira, both individually and as a couple. The Plus One is deliciously tropey, but also raw, honest, psychologically rich— and scorchingly hot." —Ava Wilder, author of How to Fake It in Hollywood i am an absolute glutton for broken people falling in love and realizing they're just a little less broken and a lot more hopeful. in this economy we get therapized with the characters in the book. I haven’t read something so true, so genuine, so sad, so heartfelt, so touchy, so beautiful! My emotions spinning around in everywhere! I cannot collect them!
