Tested extensively by some of the PSA World Tours most dynamic movers the S Line is sure to help any player explode off the T. We’ve covered everything below, from function to fashion, budget savers to bank-breakers, low-top to high-top and everything in between. This pair of budget sports shoes would be great for beginners or for kids – they are available from size 3 upwards – as they are designated ‘Multisport’ shoes. They come with a synthetic outer for breathability and strength, and a removable textile inner sole for comfort. Designed with racquet games in mind, the gum sole is a non-marking one so we have that covered.

Known for decent quality sports shoes at sensible prices, the Hi-Tec brand is now firmly established and while perhaps not held in as high esteem as some of the bigger names in the sports shoe market, these squash shoes are a very good buy, especially for beginners who don’t want to spend too much money in case they lose interest! The number one consideration in buying a new pair of squash shoes is to make sure the shoes fit correctly. While it may seem like common sense, this can’t be missed. Make sure your shoes fit your feet correctly! Nothing is more uncomfortable than wet sweaty shoes. Look for shoes that will give your feet the opportunity to breathe while you play. Ankle support.

For some players, you may not be able to find a shoe that is perfectly comfortable. If you find a shoe that meets your other needs and is within your budget, you can make minor adjustments to the shoe by looking for after-market insoles or adjusting how you lace the shoe. How do I care for my squash shoes? The Salming Hawk 2s are very similar in construction to the Asics Gel Fastball above. Produced by Swedish brand Salming, they promise lightweight performance, excellent stability and great levels of grip. Next the Adidas Crazyflight. That’s right it’s not Asics, these are Adidas. Uh these are the shoes that Paul Coll wears, he’s a top five uh former world number one player. So we know that these perform on court. I got a separate review of these and all these other shoes in this video. Um these are 390 grams so they’re getting up there on the scale so that’s nice cushioning good grip on court on these. The cosmetics, I think look super cool. I love the Adidas look and how these shoes in particular look. My biggest gripe with these was I just had some fit issues. The heel cup was like kinda small on my my just foot felt sort of funny in there. For me personally, I didn’t like the fit of these but Uh but I know they work for Paul Coll and they look pretty cool so you might wanna try out some Adidas. Oh the other problem I have with these is the lacing’s a little bit weird. They’re like it’s like very spread out Um I don’t know why. Made it hard to keep them laced up and feeling tight on me. But I’ve used these. I’ve been playing padel in these or “padel” as we say here in Philly and I just like them. They’re comfortable. They’re cushioned. They feel good on my feet and on my knees. Just on the squash court they just weren’t quite as maneuverable…as I like. Um I usually like to get something a little lighter and a little faster which is although granted a little harder on my body. But hey uh so but this is these are a cool Adidas option. If you like Adidas you want to try the Paul Coll model Adidas Crazyflight. If the idea of a low profiled shoe that sits snugly around your foot appeals to you, then I would certainly say they fit the bill, however it’s worth trying them on first to make sure you get the right size.

Designed in a few different colors and suited for both men and women, the Salming Kobra Shoe is another of the leading squash shoes. The Salming Kobra provides firm and stable positioning for players in the midst of fabric and mesh. This feature is great for foot ventilation. Seeing that squash is a fast-paced and rigorous moving game, the more flexible the footwear, the better the player is able to manage their game play. When we’re talking about a sport where stability and firmness are a must, the outsole is something you want to be able to rely on. A shoe that doesn’t count with a firmly gripping outsole simply won’t work for squash, as the strength and spontaneousness required for each motion are likely to take you off balance otherwise.• Etiquette: Squash is a sport that is played in a very specific court. This means that the shoe’s outsole is no longer related to only your performance, but also the court. The space of the court is pretty limited, so the state of the court means everything during a match. Thus, etiquette covers what you should and shouldn’t wear inside the box. For the sake of the court, it’s expected that all players use a non-marking rubber outsole when playing. The best practice also involves not bringing dirty shoes in the court or cleaning them before entering. Because of this, it’s recommended that you use your squash shoes for this purpose only, as using them outside the box will get dirt on them that you may potentially leave in the court.Something as simple as stepping on some grease can “contaminate” your shoe – this not only will make you slip in the court, but it may also make other people slip who use the court after you, as the grease may adhere to the court. Keep in mind that we are referring to this as etiquette and the best practice to follow, but in multiple gyms, these are very strict rules. People who play the game often tend to have certain things that they look for in a squash shoe, including: Weight of the shoe. Overall, for me personally I have mixed emotions about the feel of these shoes. Their rigid structure is fantastic for stability, however I found the tighter fitting made them a little less comfortable in longer matches. The feel of a shoe is certainly down to personal preference, and I’m confident that if the top players in the world are wearing these shoes, then they’ve been designed the way they are with a great deal of thought. It’s definitely worth trying these shoes on to see how they feel on your own feet before purchasing them. What does or doesn’t work for me might not be the same for you. DurabilityOverall though, an incredibly comfortable, supportive shoe with unique technology that sets these apart from the competition. As with most Adidas shoes, make sure to go up half a size to ensure a good fit. The best squash shoes in 2022: Lightweight shoes Again, one we’re yet to test, however their key features are mostly related to the stability and grip they provide: After loosening the laces all the way down the shoe, and persevering with them for a few games to break them in, they did ease up somewhat, however to this day I still find them a little snug – though this does mean they feel very secure on your feet, so there is an upshot to this. The Eye S-Line models come in a variety of bold color options and are very popular on the pro circuit.

They’re a mid-weight shoe, therefore they’re not the lightest, though far from the heaviest shoe out there As a rule of thumb, if you’re playing twice a week, you should replace your shoes once every six months – adjusting accordingly if you play more or less frequently. This is also affected by how you move – players who drag their feet or toes, or those who cover more ground in a match are likely to wear through shoes faster. When you are trying on shoes, make sure they aren’t tight. Consider purchasing a half size larger than you normally would and don’t forget to consider the width of the squash shoe, not just the length. Playing with sore feet is uncomfortable and a lot less fun. Squash shoes should have a snug but comfortable fit. They should allow you to move and turn without causing you to slip. Look for a shoe that is comfortable and breathable. If you have previous joint pain or injuries, look for something that will give you the support you need. I’m a beginner, do I really need squash shoes?

Mens Squash Shoes

For the price, we believe the technology and design – and overall quality – of this pair of dedicated squash shoes is hard to beat, and they should be good enough for any level of player. My general approach is to test out as many shoes as I can reasonably get my hands on. I’ll play with them for a few weeks before reviewing them. For each review I’m able to do, I like to take account of the shoe’s grip, weight, cosmetics, durability, and overall comfort. I also read all the comments on Squash Source to get an idea of what other people are saying. Squash Shoe FAQ What are the top squash shoe brands?
