It features some twisting, angular lugs, which I think look a little like those on some Omega models, but obviously executed to a lower standard. They really look great and should appeal to all gentlemen who wants a goodlooking, super-accurate watch with a classic, analog look and feel. I bought the all analog lineage 700 from Japan and was sad to find it only sounds very quietly, and for 10 seconds; definitely not enough to wake me. Despite the bulges, it doesn’t appear to be a homage of the Patek Nautilus or any other watch for that matter; if anything it looks like some form of mid-range modern Seiko.

Whoever is in charge of this at Casio is doing a terrible job as aside from the long codename, this watch’s name seems to bounce between any combination of its features and sub-ranges. I had to file the fixed end of the clasp a bit, and used a split pin from another watch bracelet to attach one of the regular links to the new clasp.In spite of the moderate appearance of the Lineage watches , they actually have several useful features. So if I'm adjusting the timer to four minutes and I'm at five minutes I have to go to ninety nine minutes and back around to four minutes. The specifications that separate the 8 models are listed under each watch including materials, dimensions and weight. Some have white hands which I have trouble reading at first glance (no contrast), darker hands = more legibility.

Because I measure the crystal of the M170 at 35mm, and as far as I can tell the crystal on the M100 is a tad smaller. Setting the indices in the chapter ring also allows them to be full size near the LCD, and makes the dial look bigger and more spacious.

My lcw-m170 white face has silver glossy hands, legible enough most of the time, not perfect but OK for me. The dial comes across as bigger than it is, and the lug design means it doesn't quite hug the wrist the way it should given the size. I'm not sure if the design is any more or less secure than more traditional methods, but it's definitely more convenient. I don't mind thanks to the light, and I would rather have a light than even Superluminova as it's always there and sometimes I need to tell the time in pitch black (fishing at night on a beach for instance! I’d never considered any of the more expensive Casio watches before, as I’d always been happy enough with the cheaper models; however, a quick look at the specs gave me food for thought. There's a nice bracelet between these two watches, and I even considered putting the M170 bracelet on the M100.There are no reviews online with the darker LCD, the closest I could find was this quick demo - - and that seems to confirm it's pretty hard to read!
