What I would use this for in my class is that even though your small you can still do anything no matter what you put your mind too. She had her first picture book published by Andersen at the age of 21, and has won the Silver Medal Smarties Prize (Tadpole's Promise), the Nasen Special Needs Award (Susan Laughs), the Sheffield Children's Book Award (Who's in The Loo) and the Red House Children's Book Award (Bottoms Up). The fabulous team of Jeanne Willis and Tony Ross have brought us a fantastic story to read to our Moms! It is about the smallest mouse that is wrapped up in cottonwool by his mum so that nothing happens to him, yet he goes on to have an adventure. His mother refuses to let him play outside with his brothers and sisters unless he is wrapped in a big fluffy ball of cotton wool.

And when he finally gets home – without his cotton wool, but feeling much BIGGER – he tells his worried mum that he can look after himself! By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. As a result, little Colin goes off all the time, and though bad things do sometimes happen, it's definitely worth it in the end. This book is perfect for a graduate and/or the protective parent such as myself, and was thinking to myself while reading that I could soooo relate to what was written about the mama mouse. As for the writing itself, Willis has a sweet straightforward style that keeps this book from sounding like anything more than a really cool story. As well as his own books, he has illustrated books for authors such as Roald Dahl, Paula Danziger and Michael Palin.

Cottonball Colin comes to you directly from the loony team of Brits responsible for such books as Misery Moo and the infamous Tadpole's Promise. However, the cotton wool actually ends up being the problem, as he gets chased, pecked at and soaked through as a result of his new protection. But instead of keeping him safe, the cotton wool attracts the attention of every fierce creature imaginable little boys, ducks, even foxes! Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you.But with packaging this nice, and writing this good, Cottonball Colin is the exception that proves the rule. This is a story about a kid who ends the book by walking off into the sunset to find his own way, dangers all around. This entry was posted in Picture Book Love and tagged favourite illustrators, fiction, Jeanne Willis, making connections, picture books, Tony Ross by carriegelson. But soon enough he realizes that the cotton is a bit more of a hindrance than anyone could have imagined. This book is about a little mouse name Colin and he was the smallest out of all his brothers and sisters and his mom wouldn't let him go out and play because she didn't want him to get hurt.
