MGMT est un album de questionnement, de doute, et de voyages intérieurs (c'est peut-être pour ça que le groupe a repris la chanson "Introspection"). The album was originally released on January 22, 2008, and has since received critical acclaim for its unique blend of psychedelic pop and indie rock. Newly remastered from the original analog tapes, this 2LP edition of MGMT’s psychedelic rock masterpiece from 2010 is pressed on 180-gram vinyl and features the paradoxical “Flash Delirium. The panning from left to right sounded not only better in clarity, but did a better job at creating the effect.

There'll probably be more pressure for the band to next time bring the melodic bits up higher into the mix. In 2021, the album was re-released in a limited edition RSD Essentials pink vinyl format, making it a must-have for vinyl collectors and fans of MGMT alike.

In fact, maybe in a few years we'll see another release of the album, but only with all the studio channels available so you could do your own mix of the record? As other reviewers have stated, there are slew of discernible influences in their music, if you choose to go looking for them, but no particular artist or era stands out as a primary source. The successor to 2008’s Oracular Spectacular and 2010’s Congratulations , MGMT sees the band continuing to push themselves to expand the boundaries of modern pop music. Oracular Spectacular captures the zeal and reckless abandon of youth in every track, that unbridled exploratory energy accentuating moments of deep wisdom. The successor to 2008's Oracular Spectacular and 2010 s Congratulations, MGMT finds Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser continuing to push themselves to expand the boundaries of modern pop music. The album features MGMT's signature song "Kids", the funky track "Electric Feel" (famously covered by Weezer) and the smashing opening track "Time to Pretend". Totally helped shape a new wave of electro-indie bands and infact bring electro into the indie mainstream!Yes, there is a code with the album, but the offer for the free download ended on 1/23/09 (it's February 10th 2009, during the writing of this review). While it may not be to the commercialisation standard of Oracular Spectacular, this is every bit as eclectic and sophisticated as that album. The result is a diverse and powerful collection of 10 songs that directly mirrors the duo’s encompassing surrealist view of the everyday. It's weird enough for the artsy indie fans and accessible enough for any patient listener to appreciate and enjoy, given time. Includes a printed inner sleeve containing band photo and lyrics with artwork and credits on flipside.

Overall, the MGMT - Oracular Spectacular LP (RSD Essentials pink vinyl) is a highly sought-after and collectible release for fans of the band and vinyl enthusiasts alike. Catchy tracks that combine late 70s/early 80s neo-psychedelic music with modern pop and dance tracks make for a consistent set of tracks, with great meaningful lyrics (something that seems to be lacking elsewhere in today's music), great instrument playing (with solos and extended instrumental sections reminiscent of early Pink Floyd - Of Moons, Birds and Monsters is a stand out track on this front) and a few popular tracks to make it still appeal to the masses. MGMT release their fourth album Little Dark Age - the follow-up to their 2013 self-titled album is released via Columbia. Gatefold double LPCurrents is the highly anticipated third full-length from the much loved Australian psychedelic rockers and the follow up to 2012's Lonerism. This is that rare thing an album of potent musical quality that provides instantly catchy but durable pop music(I loved this album from the start and it's still getting better with every play).Congratulations' is a collection of nine individual musical tours de force sequenced to flow with sonic and thematic coherence. I've finally got this album and although "Alien Days" comes close to "Flash Delirium", by the time of "Introspection" (And yes, I know that's a cover) I finally realised what was going on with the album. Concernant la critique de l'album, je suis assez en désaccord avec la majorité de ce qu'on peut trouver ici.
