All told it’s a rum that is designed for a clear and specific purpose — one which it succeeds at perfectly well — but which will hardly change anything at all in your worldview. The origins of the Bahama Mama are sketchy, but it’s likely to have been invented in the 1960s by Oswald “Slade” Greenslade, a Bahamian bartender working in the Nassau Beach Hotel.
