Viñalba is a family-owned company, set-up and run by husband and wife Hervé and Diane Joyaux Fabre. Hervé J. Fabre, born in Bordeaux, arrived in Argentina in the early 1990s when Malbec was viewed as little more than a blending partner. This is a relatively new wine-making region with vineyards being planted from 1980s onwards. Fast becoming an important, prestigious and highly sought after area, Hervé and Diane have already planted more vineyards in the Gualtallary area of this region.

Hervé is constantly exploring new styles of Malbec-based wines, meticulously crafting the wines from the vineyard to the winery to ensure that every step of the process is carried out to his instruction. Viñalba offers beautifully crafted wines which combining purity of fruit with elegance and complexity. Underpinning all of this is the unshakeable belief in the local terroirs, and determination that all our wines should express these terroirs as elegantly as possible. The Valley de Uco is probably one of the most exciting regions of Mendoza, with the highest altitude vineyards (1,700m above sea level) and an impressive terroir. Viñalba is an exciting range of wines which showcases the depth and elegance that Argentina can offer. It encompasses an eclectic range of grape varieties and wines from both Mendoza and Patagonia. Launched in 2007, it has already won over 210 medals, including 17 trophies in the industry’s top competitions and is sold in 12 countries.Patagonia is an exciting new region for Argentine wine, and clearly has huge potential. Here the climate is significantly cooler, giving fresher wines with a more elegant, almost old world style. The wine is made to capture the beautiful purity of the grapes and get as much of that flavour as possible into the bottle. A beautiful and elegant wine with aromas of violets and liquorice. Soft and well balanced with some hints of vanilla. This wine is a perfect example of a true Malbec from Patagonia. Vineyards & Viticulture

His wife Diane takes control once the wine is ready to be shipped to customers. She looks after everything from corks to customers and beyond. It is this partnership which brings Viñalba to life! Mendoza is Argentina’s foremost wine producing province and the heart of its wine trade. More than 80% of all Argentinian wine is produced is this province. Divided in five sub regions, Mendoza features an enviable array of grape varieties, soils and altitudes (from 500 to 1800m above sea level), as well as a very long, dry and mild autumn making it a winemaker’s paradise.
