And when we’re talking performance, rare carbon out performs ombré leather EDP, but I have to give it to ombré leather parfum for the best performance out of all 3. The recent parfum release take OL and makes it earthier and a little powdery but has that violet with a musty tobacco.

There is a slight petroleum vibe in the beginning but it fades with time and the dry down has more woody characteristics than leather, but it is still present. I am by no means big in the frag game, but I don't see why I need to look much further outside of this company for what I need. one may think leather + violet leaf may smell similar to Fahrenheit but Rare Carbon does not smell like Fahrenheit at all.

I bought Rare Carbon hoping to get a solid alternative to Ombre Leather and I have to say it is definitely the same. This will probably be my signature scent till spring finally gets here (Minnesota so that may be a while). Granted my sniffer hasn't been quite the same since I got that pandemic virus a couple years ago, but of the 60+ fragrances I have, this is by far my least favorite. In comparison the leather scent of the rare carbon is sharp to the nose and smells like plastic leather; the dry down doesn't help get it any closer to the original profile either.
