Prosecco is often compared to champagne, which is considered to be the benchmark of sparkling wine. So what differentiates them? Prosecco is produced in the Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine regions of Italy, while champagne is from Champagne, France. Groundbreaking, huh? Brut means dry and unsweetened in French, so you can enjoy a nice refreshing glass knowing it won’t impact your calorie, sugar, or carb intake much. The mixer you add to spirits is what affects your calorie intake the most, especially if you use full-fat mixers instead of diet or slimline options.

The most common method of making Prosecco involves pressing grapes very gently so that the free-run juice is extracted right from the centre of the grape. The cloudy juice from the grape then settles in a stainless steel tank and is left to cool for around ten to twelve hours. From here on in, keep the bottle pointed away from yourself and anyone present, especially people's faces – about a 45 degree angle is good.Prosecco is one of the best alcoholic beverages you can drink if you’re lowering your calorie intake. Make sure you have your glasses ready and within easy reach. Then, take your bottle and remove the foil; there should be a tag or perforation line to make this easy and neat. One of the biggest reasons for this is that Prosecco has a lower alcohol content compared to other wines. Most vegan friendly Prosecco contains around 12% ABV (alcohol by volume), whereas a glass of red wine contains around 15% ABV.

A pint of beer can contain between 180 and 210 calories, which is around 10% of your recommended calorie allowance - meaning just give pints of the stuff can cost you half of your daily intake. If you can feel the cork pushing to leave the bottle already, get a glass ready. Otherwise, with the bottle gripped in one hand, slowly pull up the cork with the other. It may be quite stiff at first – if so, alternate pulling and twisting motions – but as you go you'll start to feel the pressure from within helping you out. Prosecco generally has fewer calories than wine - a single glass can contain around 60 calories less than if it was in wine. Our parties are a light-hearted way to demonstrate the qualities and types of Prosecco. We’re not out and out wine buffs, we know and love Prosecco and want to Share the Fizz! We cater for any occasion, whether it is just a catch up with friends, a VIP night out, or a tasting session as a hen party warm-up, a Prosecco tasting is a great way to get together to celebrate in style! Who needs an excuse to pop open the bottle and enjoy the light, delicate taste of Prosecco? We also cater for corporate events; client engagements, product launches or team celebrations are just some of the events we provide.

For example, a shot of vodka contains between 90 and 100 calories, as does whiskey, tequila and rum. Gin typically contains a few more calories, with a calorie content of 110 per shot.

You can drink hundreds and hundreds of calories a day if you have this mindset. Alcoholic drinks are no exception - and unfortunately, neither is Prosecco. With your other hand, untwirl the cage fastening. Uncover your thumb, lift off the cage and replace your thumb over the cork. Keep reading to find out how many calories are in Prosecco, how the calorie content in Prosecco compares to other alcoholic beverages, and how to know which Prosecco has fewer calories. Prosecco-Ecco provides PROSECCO TASTINGS where we demonstrate the different styles of Prosecco. There is more to Prosecco than you think! This is because it contains less sugar for the dry and unsweetened taste. Don’t be fooled by the label ‘Extra Dry’.Drier Prosecco (or brut, which means unsweetened and dry in French) usually has the lowest amount of calories, with as few as 60 per glass. When opening a bottle of prosecco, remember it will behave far better and more predictably if it has been left to sit and chill for a few hours. Warmth and/or rough handling both make for an explosive cork situation, meaning more mess and waste. Fizz should go into glasses, not onto ceilings. There are many different types of Proseccos in supermarkets and wine shops and at Prosecco-Ecco we want to demonstrate how a little understanding means you will buy the bottle that suits your taste every time. Although beer and wine are both made by fermenting plants, they have a surprising difference when it comes to calorie content. Poorly labelled beverages can result in us drinking undesirable and unhealthy ingredients - and many wines are a major culprit when it comes to poor labelling and hidden ingredients.

A glass of rich, full-bodied red can contain 120 calories per glass, and dessert wines can contain as many as 165 calories per glass. Demi-sec Prosecco can contain around 120 calories per glass, so you might want to avoid this type of Prosecco if you’re conscious of calories. Regarding sweeter Prosecco, this will be done for a shorter period of time to ensure that more sugar remains. A standard glass of Prosecco contains around 1.5g of sugar and 80 calories, but this can vary depending on the brand you choose. Calories are in the majority of foods and drinks - even the healthy ones. Generally, but not in all cases, unhealthy foods have more calories. It seems like all the best food and drink to come out of Italy starts with "p"—pizza, pasta, prosciutto, Parmesan, prosecco. That last one is Italy's most popular version of bubbly, sparkling wine. Make big and small occasions feel even more special with a bottle of Prosecco. Sourced from trusted suppliers in Italy, you’ll love its crisp and aromatic flavour. From sweet to extra dry, we’ve got options for all tastes. With its soft pink colour, our Rose Prosecco can help elevate your dinner dates. It goes particularly well with nibbles like berries and olives. And for life’s bigger moments, pop open a bottle of sparkling wine. Extra dry Prosecco suggests that it’s drier than brut Prosecco, but it actually has higher sugar content. If you’re watching your calorie intake, brut is a better option than anything labelled ‘extra dry’. For example, half a cup of grapes typically has around 50 calories, whereas a slice of cake might contain around 270 calories. Prosecco Brut is low in residual sugar, meaning fewer carbs and ultimately fewer calories, with between 60 and 80 calories per glass.
