Umarex also carries a huge line of accessories for almost any application, from cleaning kits and care products to optics and airgun ammo. Umarex has collaborated with several renowned firearm manufacturers to produce authentic replica airguns that mimic the look, feel, and functionality of their real counterparts. These collaborations have allowed Umarex to offer shooters an unparalleled shooting experience, with airguns modeled after iconic firearms. Umarex offers a diverse range of airguns, catering to different shooting preferences and applications. Whether it's plinking, target shooting, or competitive shooting, Umarex has a model to suit every need. Some popular Umarex Airgun lines include: This means that – if you normally shoot at a specific range – you can set this 4 x 32 bundled airgun scope to give its best performance at that distance. This can be an useful benefit for this scope, although not all bundled scopes can do it (and maybe not all the scopes bundled with the Umarex Emerge). An optical system for giving a magnified view of the target. A reticle, usually mounted in a tube, is displayed in the same plane as the target, making it easier to aim over large distances and providing an aid to shooters with less-than-perfect eyesight.

The 4 x 32 scope bundled with the Umarex Emerge tested by HAM was of the expected limited optical quality. There’s a basic duplex reticle with no mil-dots – essential for any serious field work with an airgun. The first stage is easily felt, although rather long and creepy. The sear release – actually firing the gun – is somewhat indistinct and with a slightly variable quality. It requires some practice to feel confident of when the gun will actually fire. Familiarity definitely helps here! Rotational movement of a projectile around the bore axis. Stabilizes the trajectory. Caused by spiral grooves in the bore and the ridges between them (lands), which make the projectile spin. Prevents inadvertent firing of a semiautomatic pistol when the magazine is partly or fully removed. Note that Umarex USA is very unlikely to approve of this modification. So you didn’t hear about it from HAM, especially if you mess-up the adjustment! There’s no doubt that the metal magazine unit is pretty bomb-proof – not at all flimsy as with some plastic magazines. The steel face plate is tough, too. Furthermore the magnet system for holding the magazine in place is a high-tech feature in a gun of this price.

So the Umarex Emerge tested by HAM definitely does not have a “glass break trigger”. However, this trigger performance is appropriate for the price and the gun’s expected uses: plinking and close-range hunting. It’s likely to satisfy most owners in this price range. Generally, the 12-shot rotary magazine worked well. We’ll cover this in more detail in the “Buying and Owning” section below. The main performance claim made by the manufacturer is that it achieves the obligatory 1,000 FPS Muzzle Velocity with 7.0 Grain pellets in .177 caliber. The Emerge tested by HAM certainly met that claim. In fact, it exceeded it by producing 1.025 FPS with 7.0 Grain RWS Hobby pellets. I got to spend a lot of quality time with this rifle over the past four weeks. It’s been out on my bench in the garden range at least half a dozen times, and I’ve also taken it with me on a couple of rabbit hunts at two different perms. This is because the Emerge is well-balanced for off-hand shooting. The HAM Team found that it shoots well using the “Artillery hold”, with a minimum of grip on the forend. (See the photograph below). I’m impressed, very impressed with this kit. Yes, there are PCP rifles out there for similar money, but for CO2 lovers this Umarex 850 M2 is a massive step up in terms of quality, accuracy and performance. Not only that, it’s really easy to shoot and extremely good fun, to boot. It’s the ideal gift for our younger shooters and for those just getting into the sport, as well as seasoned shooters who fancy a play with something a little different to the norm. When you open that box and see all the goodies inside, it’s like opening a birthday present – there’s just so much to go at. This rifle comes fitted with front and rear fibre-optic open sights, with an adjustable rear goalpost and shrouded post at the front, which are more than adequate. It also comes supplied with a Walther 3-9x40 scope and mounts, which I must say is a joy to use. It has a basic ‘hunting’ crosshair, which you would expect from a budget scope, but it’s suitable for both short-range target and hunting situations. You won’t be able to use holdover or under with this, but then this kit is not designed to be an out-and-out hunter or target rifle – it’s all things to all men (and women). There are yet more goodies inside the box in the form of an Umarex K3 Neo silencer, which screws down on the 1/2”-20 UNF muzzle thread beautifully. It really does make a difference to the sound output from this rifle, and I’m glad that Umarex has included it in the kit – if you’re going to take this rifle out on the rabbits, the silencer will definitely give you an edge.
