To toast the pecans, in a dry skillet on medium-low heat, cook one tablespoon chopped raw pecans until they almost (but not quite!) start to brown. Your nose is the best indicator- as soon as you start to smell them, they are about finished. One thing I'm trying to perfect is cold-brewed coffee, essentially steep the ground coffee in cold water overnight, filter and keep the liquor in a jug in the fridge and use it by adding hot water or milk or reheating it. A much smoother drink than from the hot brewed cafetiere or wotnot, and of course it's essentially home-made "instant"! But I don't drink instant in any form. It's so easy to just make your own with a cafetière (or many other methods), and there's no comparison. Instant coffee is an entirely different drink to freshly brewed coffee. It's a bit like comparing fresh orange juice to orange squash. And some people prefer squash to the real thing. You don't have to prefer the so-called superior product - each to their own. We know what you are thinking! Coffee and orange juice together in one cup? Really? You got to be kidding, right?

Even though cold brew coffee seems like a recent fad, it's actually been around for hundreds of years! The earliest record of cold brewed coffee is Japan in the 1600s, although many believe it is possible that they learned about it from Dutch traders. Making it is easy too, you just need a orange for orange zest and a Seattle’s Best Breakfast Blend K-Cup or Ground Coffee. Or whatever coffee you happen to have on hand right now. When ready, strain the liquid through a coffee filter (or use other previously mentioned option) and you are done! All you need to do is enjoy it the way you like. I used French press. If you are doing a K-Cup, you will put the zest in a small metal strainer and put it over your coffee cup. Hit brew and that’s it!

This orange coffee recipe has been served in Vietnam for generations and it is called by many names. Non-Dairy or Dairy of Choice – Almond milk, soy milk, oat milk or even whole milk all froth well. We have had less success frothing coconut milk. However, the So Delicious brand Dairy Free Organic Creamer made with Coconut Milk froths like a champ. We use the Earth ECHO Frother for great results. Allow your coffee or espresso to cool before pouring over ice. To expedite the process, we put our espresso and cacao powder mixture in the freezer while we squeezed the orange juice and frothed our non-dairy. Prep this citrus-infused drink ahead and enjoy whenever you need a caffeine fix. Plus, it is easy to make and can last over a week in the fridge when stored properly!Or maybe you would prefer to use your empty coffee cans for organization and storage. There are ideas in here for all of that and so much more. Froth or mix your cacao/cocoa powder in the coffee while still warm. You can exchange Cacao Bliss for any recipe using cocoa powder and vise versa. In addition, you can use cocoa powder as an exchange for Cacao Bliss but you will be missing our on the extra healthy super foods. This coffee will be strong, so if you don't take cream or milk in your coffee, you will likely want to dilute with some water. Start by adding one tablespoon of cold water at a time, tasting between each addition to get to your desired strength. From bread pans and utensil holders to toys, planters, and even lamps and lanterns, we’re going to make good use of those empty plastic or metal coffee containers and turn that trash into treasure!
