Necron Dynasties features a linear strategy that aims to win by combat or commander damage. Its cards have different effects that fulfill most functions satisfactorily. The manual that shows you how to build the models like all of games workshop’s manuals is very clear and helpful and the only problems I had were the mistakes I made of my own volition along the way. When it’s built you will see that the towering vessel will stand proud upon any table and easily dominate the field. Painting The King For millions of years, the Silent King traveled in the void between galaxies. He was the only Necron to completely remember his past and time as an organic lifeform, suffering the memories of what he had done to his race. The aeons of grief would have destroyed the minds of any lesser lifeform. However he still had a plan, and sought to redeem himself by achieving it on behalf of his people. Szarekh sought to have his people slumber until such a time when the enemies of the Necrons such as the Eldar were overcome by internal discord and the ravages of time. Using their immortal bodies and radical weaponry, the Necrons would then lead his people to dominate the galaxy. In the meantime, Szarekh's exile in the void would achieve other ends knowable only to him, though some speculate it was to find a way to reverse Biotransference. [9] It's unknown what he saw during his travels or why he chose to exile himself into the void. Some say it was to escape the crimes he committed against his people and some say he exiled himself to find ways to reverse the biotransference. One thing is known however, his return was due to the Tyranids and the threat they posed. Supposedly, out of pure altruism, he returned to stop them from thwarting any attempt at reversing the biotransference. It's unknown what exactly he saw out in the void, to what scale that made him so sure of such an omnipresent peril, and how he even discovered the Tyranids in the first place. One thing is for certain. The Silent King has returned to the galaxy and is attempting to unify his people in reconquering the galaxy and ending the threat the Tyranids pose to his plans, whatever they may be.

Range: Extended Melee Range physically; Tens of Meters via the Sceptre of Eternal Glory and Dais of Dominion. Outerversal via Dais of Dominion ( Capable of creating portals into the Webway [10], which would grant it this range) The Deceiver spoke of a war, fought long before the birth of the Necrontyr, between the C'tan and the Old Ones. It was a war, he said, that the C'tan had lost. In the aftermath, and fearing the vengeance of the Old Ones, he and his brothers had hidden themselves away, hoping one day to find allies with whom they could finally bring the Old Ones to account. In return for aid, the Deceiver assured, he and his brothers would deliver everything that the Necrontyr craved. Szarekh was given the most sophisticated and powerful Necron body during Biotransference and maintains a sensory and neurological network far superior to anything flesh and blood could create. His physical form is built from the Necrodermis of C'tan. [9] Despite cosmetic alterations, the shape of the Ankh remains unchanged, each exacting curve and line perfectly reproduced. Each dynasty also has its own glyphs, variations on the Ankh that identify its soldiers as part of a particular phaeron's armies. Throughout the final stages of the War in Heaven, Szarekh bided his time, waiting for the moment in which the C'tan would be vulnerable. Though the entire Necron race was his to command, he could not hope to oppose the C'tan at the height of their power, and even if he did and met with success, the Necrons would then have to finish the War in Heaven alone. No, the Old Ones had to be defeated before the C'tan could be brought to account for the horror they had wrought.During the Pariah Crusade Szarekh was at first content to leave the defense of his Pariah Nexus to Szeras and other vassal Lords, but eventually intervened himself as the Imperial invasion gained size. He met his vassals and 3,000 Triarch Praetorians on Xendu, being offered captured Human Blanks for experimentation. After this ceremony he took personal command of a massive counteroffensive of millions of Necrons that caused several major defeats to the Imperials. [11] Wargear Name: Szarekh, The Silent King, Last of the Silent Kings, Shatterer of the Star Gods, Defeater of the Old Ones, Bringer of Unity, Master of the Final Triarch, Wielder of the Sceptre of Eternal Glory

They came to us as gods and we, like fools, took them at their word. Mephet'ran the Deceiver, Aza'gorod the Nightbringer, Iash'uddra the Endless Swarm; I curse their names, and the names of all their malevolent brethren." Szarekh is not the model for beginners but for those hardened veterans who wish to take their fights to the next level he will allow you to do so. He exceeds the regular point cost of models in the 40k universe and this is reflected in his huge scale making him become the centre points of the battles he partakes in. Bringing him to the fight feels right having a towering king dominating the battle he fights in and his playstyle reflects this with many special rules and powers that makes him challenging and fun to use to slay your enemies. Not Truly A Silent King It is a decent stat line, but judging by GW’s hype, most of his power is almost certainly in his abilities! It can’t be too much longer now for us to see the full sheet in all its glory! In 995. M41, the Blood Angels Space Marine Chapter engaged a Necron army under the Silent King. In what became known as the Gehenna Campaign, when Tyranids appeared over Gehenna the Blood Angels and Necrons of the Silent King were forced to join forces to defeat their common foe. [2] Speed: At least Hypersonic, likely far higher combat and reaction speed, up to Massively Hypersonic+ perception speed via Chronosense (Should be just as fast, if not faster than Trazyn the Infinite and Imotekh the Stormlord given his superior body. Additionally, his chronosense should be just as powerful) The Silent King recognised them and the other growing threats to the Necrons in the form of the Imperium of Man and the growing strength of Chaos as a major threat to his people's chances of reconquering the galaxy and regaining their organic forms. If every model in an INFANTRY unit is on or in an Area Terrain feature with this trait, then it can either Hold Steady or it can Set to Defend (see below) when an enemy unit declares a charge against it. Warriors • Immortals ( Despotek • Guardian) • Pariahs • Deathmarks • Lychguards • Triarch Praetorians • Flayed Ones • Cryptothrall

As Szarekh watched the C'tan feast on the life essence of his people, he realised the terrible depth of his mistake. In many ways, he felt better than he had in solar decades, the countless aches and uncertainties of organic life now behind him. His new machine body was far mightier than the frail form he had tolerated for so long, and his thoughts were swifter and clearer than they had ever been. Yet there was an emptiness gnawing at his mind, an inexpressible hollowness of spirit that defied rational explanation. Phaeron ( Szarekh • Imotekh the Stormlord) • Overlord ( Anrakyr the Traveler • Trazyn the Infinite • Nemesor Zahndrekh) • Lord ( Vargard Obyron • Lokhust Lord • Flayer King • Skorpekh Lord) • Royal Warden In 744. M41, the Silent King ended his self-imposed exile and returned to the galaxy after encounter with the Tyranids within the intergalactic void. He discovered the Tyranids were just one of many threats facing the Necrons. Other alien races had swarmed over their Tomb Worlds and the Warp now seeped across the Galaxy. [4] He has begun a journey across the galaxy with a band of his loyal Triarch Praetorians to reawaken Tomb Worlds that still slumber so they may unite against the Tyranids. [1c] The returned Silent King was at first careful to not reveal his true identity, even to fellow Necrons. He worked primarily through Triarch Praetorians or unwitting Crypteks and Necron Overlords to achieve his goal, and has steadily influenced the galaxy from one side to the other. Slowly, he has pursued his great work from the shadows. [3] He intends to unite the Necrons against the Tyranids while also manipulating the younger races to his own schemes. [4] Szarekh has claimed that he has encountered Sanguinius, who may have been on the verge of establishing an alliance with the Necrons. These symbols are sometimes worn alongside the Ankh of the Triarch, but are usually secondary in size and placement, mirroring the ancient relationship between the dynasty's phaeron and the empire's governing Triarch. When the Silent King returned openly, he bid his Triarch Praetorians and other followers return to him on the Tomb World of Antrakh. He then chose two Phaerons of minor Dynasties to form the new Triarch: Hapthatra the Radiant and Mesophet the Shadowed Hand. The two Phaerons were joined into the Dias of Dominion, itself powered by a captured shard of the C'tan Nyadra'zatha. After joining with the platform, they began to speak with the same voice and never overruled the Silent King. [9] One of the key lessons that the Silent King has learned over the long millennia is the importance of delegation. He used the Triarch to rule the Necrontyr and he’s now accompanied by the Phaeron of the Stars and the Phaeron of the Blades to aid in his devious schemes. In game, they act as inhuman shields, protecting their king while also providing the rest of your army two handy aura effects.
