The three were guided to an underground pizzeria, where they finally find Charlie. However, they are surrounded by Twisted Bonnie and Twisted Wolf, commanded by William Afton, who is now undead; With his new body, he calls himself Springtrap. The four manage to escape, even managing to burn down Twisted Bonnie and Twisted Wolf. Then Charlie sees that Springtrap escapes and starts chasing him, leaving her friends behind. John, Jessica, and Clay are surrounded by Twisted Bonnie, Twisted Wolf, and Twisted Freddy. However, they are rescued by the original Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, as they destroy the twisted animatronics. Marla later appears at the hospital with John, Jessica, Charlie, and Carlton where Clay is recovering from his brutal injury. When the doctor says Clay will be okay, everyone is relieved except for Charlie (Baby in disguise). The doctor then tells everyone to leave. Some time later, she and Carlton meet up with John and Jessica, they think of a plan to know where real Charlie is and to stop William. The next day, John and his friends attend the scholarship's launch ceremony at their old school, where Michael's parents give a speech about him. Afterwards, John confesses to Charlie that he remembers seeing a strange person in a yellow Freddy costume at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza on the day of Michael's death, and he now suspects this person was Michael's killer. The Missing Children are a group of children who were kidnapped from Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and murdered by William Afton. Upon dying, their souls became attached to the core animatronic crew of Freddy, Bonnie, Foxy, Chica, and Golden Freddy. During the climax of The Silver Eyes, the animatronics chased Charlie through the abandoned pizzeria. Golden Freddy is a far more benevolent character in the novel than in the game series, acting as a guide to the main characters. Jessica first appears in Chapter 1, where she is driving her car, she then sees John, and asks him if he can meet up with her and the group at Carlton's house. John reluctantly accepts, and Jessica drives away.

One by one, the four animatronics approach him and drag their dying murderer into the darkness of the pizzeria. A year later, twisted versions of the Freddy's animatronics are committing a series of murders, which have as their mission to catch Charlie. At one point, one of them (Twisted Freddy) manages to catch the girl and her friends do not know where they are. Then John proposes to ask for help to the animatronics of the restaurant, since he thinks that they were not discarded at all; effectively, Clay Burke reveals that he kept them in his basement, since he neither dared to disarm them nor leave them free, however, they had not shown signs of life since then. Although the spirit inside of Golden Freddy is named Michael Brooks in The Silver Eyes, the events of the novel, while considered canon by the creator, is an alternate continuity to the game series. However in the Freddy Files books and Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria Simulator, it’s revealed that the spirit inside of Golden Freddy is named Cassidy.

Later Marla and Carlton go to rescue Jessica and the three kids. Marla shoves the illusionary device into Jessica's ear, as Carlton goes to find the taken kid. Marla, Jessica, and the three kids run to the exit, however they are being chased by Funtime Foxy. Marla and Jessica try to fend the fox off from harming the kids. As Charlie's friends mourn over her death, a woman drives up and got out. She was slim and tall, with long, straight brown hair that glistened in the sun. She strode purposefully toward the diner. They all watched motionless, as if the slightest sound might rupture the illusion and send her away. The woman was almost at the door. A year later, Jessica enters the University of St. George with Charlie. During the time they spend together, they become more united, to the point where Jessica is very concerned about what happens to Charlie and what she thinks, especially when they learn that John was coming to visit her, so Jessica is very interested in what happens between the two of them.Eventually, Jessica encouraged him to get together with the rest of the old childhood crew (aside from Lamar), he reluctantly shows up at Clay Burke's house and meets his friends once more. Clay also encouraged him to stay, despite his urges to leave. When Charlie showed up, he had left the house out of fear-- only to be caught by her. He doesn't accept that she's truly Charlie; nonetheless, the two agree to meet up again at the Thai restaurant they went to on their first date the next day. After eating at the Thai restaurant, they went to see a movie called Zombies vs. Zombies, it reminded Charlie about her twin brother Sammy. After the date, John took her to the park; Charlie said "it was awkward". When she went home, Jessica was excited and asked "So? how did it go?". Unwilling to reply truthfully, Charlie nervously answered "It was ok". William fears one thing and one thing only, and that is death. While in his weakened state in The Fourth Closet, he expresses that he is afraid of thinking about how his time is running out, how he’d die if his goal of transporting his soul into a robot isn't achieved. He also mentions how he would rather live eternally in the state he is in than pass on.

William Afton is an evil, selfish, ruthless, and sadistic murderer. He kills any witnesses to keep from getting caught, which shows his cowardly side. Nevertheless, he is still a determined and extremely fierce serial killer, who will not hesitate a single moment to get in a fight with any of his foes or murdering people for experiments or his own amusement. William Afton is also rather ungrateful, having murdered Charlotte Emily despite the fact that if it wasn't for her father, then the franchise wouldn't have achieved its earlier success. Afton is also neglectful and physically abusive towards his daughter Elizabeth, who later on seemingly only accepted her once she became Baby. Despite this, he still acts verbally abusive towards her. Afton prioritizes his work over his own family. The protagonist of The Silver Eyes and The Twisted Ones, she was killed by William at Fredbear's Family Diner, while her and her twin brother were hiding in one of the closets playing with costumes. He's also one of Charlie's childhood friends, he was lured away by William in a yellow bear suit, along with 4 other children, and was never seen again. He kept Charlie's old childhood robot's, Theodore's, still-functioning head on his nightstand. His apartment was barely furnished, and was quite messy. He spent most of his time laying on his bed, theorizing about reasons Charlie could still be alive. He was entirely unwilling to see Charlie, and the time after her "death" was spent alone. Jessica is then later encountered by Baby Crawlers. Jessica manages to fight them off, by tossing them into the ball pit. Then Jessica, Marla, and the three kids were able to make an escape.

Jessica later follows the fake Charlie, who reveals herself to be Circus Baby and is captured by her and brought to Circus Baby's Pizza. She forces Jessica to perform surgery on a weak William Afton who has escaped the Spring Bonnie suit. Jessica completes the surgery and is thrown into a room where the recently captured kids are being held. A little after the events of the previous book, the police extract everything that was in the pizzeria, including animatronics and costumes, and discard it, in addition to giving permission to finally demolish the structure. Years later, local priest Arthur Blythe was called to the hospital to give him his last rites, but William began to communicate with him, first by creating beeps through the monitors, and next by tracing letters with a single finger, spelling out FAZBENTERDISCENTER. Arthur figured out that it was shorthand for the Fazbear Entertainment Distribution Center, which Arthur then figured out he wanted to visit. He began to petition for the hospital to allow the man to visit, initially being refused. All three nurses attempt to kill William, but all are prevented by Andrew.
