Neben dem Witz kommen die typischen Gruselelemente aber natürlich nicht zu kurz. Fürchten wird sich hier wohl keiner, aber Halloween-Fans werden dennoch großen Grund zur Freude haben. Vampire, Monster, Zombies, Mumien, Geister... – all diese Kreaturen treiben in diesem Band ihr Unwesen. Für die Halloweenzeit ist das Buch daher ganz besonders zu empfehlen.

Rowley Jefferson’s Awesome Friendly Spooky Stories (Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid) by Jeff Kinney (pdfarchive.in).pdf.pdf Scare yourself silly with Rowley Jefferson’s Awesome Friendly Spooky Stories by Jeff Kinney, the #1 international bestselling author of Diary of a Wimpy Kid! I'm glad Jeff Kinney is branching out a bit, I feel it's working well for the series. Grab a flashlight, crawl under the covers, and dive into the twisted, unexpectedly hilarious world of Rowley Jefferson’s imagination. You’ll meet zombies, vampires, ghosts, and much more in these comically terrifying tales. The supposed kid author of this story collection delivers some different variations to some classic monster and ghost stories. Do you think he was trying to make a point with some of these tales? What did you take away from the story “The Cellar?” What “scary” things were his parents hiding down there? What did you make of his reaction after they showed him? You may know Greg Heffley from his Diary of a Wimpy Kid stories. Yeah, well Rowley Jefferson is Greg’s best friend. He’s a generally nice kid, even though he does make some kinda silly, nonsensical choices sometimes that end up landing Greg in hot water. How about “The Scanner” story? What do you think the people who were turned into skeletons took away from their experience? Does that apply to our real world? “The Stain” is another interesting take on a spooky idea. What do you think that was all about?

The third book in the series, Rowley Jefferson’s Awesome Friendly Spooky Stories goes on sales next Tuesday, March 16th, and The Beat is extremely thrilled to present an EXCLUSIVE preview of an entire story from the book! Rowley’s spooky stories might leave you laughing, but beware—you could end up sleeping with the lights on! Sandy Saito loves baseball, and the Vancouver Asahi ballplayers are his heroes. But when they lose in the 1941 semifinals, Sandy’s dad calls it a bad omen. Sure enough, in December 1941, Japan bombs Pearl Harbor in the U.S. The Canadian government begins to ban Japanese people from certain areas, moving them to “dormitories” and setting a curfew. Sandy wants to spend time with his father, but as a doctor, his dad is busy, often sneaking out past curfew to work. One night Papa is taken to “where he [is] needed most,” and the family is forced into an internment camp. Life at the camp isn’t easy, and even with some of the Asahi players playing ball there, it just isn’t the same. Trying to understand and find joy again, Sandy struggles with his new reality and relationship with his father. Based on the true experiences of Japanese Canadians and the Vancouver Asahi team, this graphic novel is a glimpse of how their lives were affected by WWII. The end is a bit abrupt, but it’s still an inspiring and sweet look at how baseball helped them through hardship. The illustrations are all in a sepia tone, giving it an antique look and conveying the emotions and struggles. None of the illustrations of their experiences are overly graphic, making it a good introduction to this upsetting topic for middle-grade readers. The closest real spiritual tale might be the story “The Demon.” What does it mean to be possessed? What did it mean in this story? Scare yourself silly with Rowley Jefferson’s Awesome Friendly Spooky Stories by Jeff Kinney, the #1 international bestselling author of Diary of a Wimpy Kid!You’ve got the tale of an airport scanner that turns people into living skeletons (which isn’t all that bad when you consider the savings on makeup and hair gel). And then there’s the story of The Stain, a lie that spreads to creepy proportions. The Human Head is all about a kid who was school friends with the Headless Horseman before that villain had even learned to ride a pony. And there are 11 more like those. Rowley Jefferson’s Awesome Friendly Spooky Stories ( Diary Of An Awesome Friendly Kid) By Jeff Kinney (pdfarchive.in).pdf Spooky Stories, as you might guess, is a bit of a genre-inspired book, with terrifying tales as told by Rowley. It’s Kinney’s very first book of short stories, and he’ll be promoting it via a socially distanced tour of 12 bookstores, the “Rowley’s Spooky Drive-Thru Tour.” We’ll have more about that later but in the meantime, enjoy this never before seen, hilariously horrific story from the demented mind of Rowley Jefferson about a boy who experiences terrifying changes to his body….and the truth behind those changes! The Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise created by Jeff Kinney is one of the most successful kids book series of the century, with more than 250 million copies sold worldwide.
