Description

If you are interested in any of the machines from sage, I have a great discount code available on all Sage coffee machines: Like most bean-to-cup machines, the Brera takes both beans and ground coffee. If you enjoy decaf coffee, this feature is vital. The grinder has a knob for adjusting coarseness, and you can also adjust the espresso strength using a button on the front of the machine (3 options). Additionally, there is a button to choose between long coffee and espresso.

The control panel is designed to be simple and intuitive to use with just four buttons for on/off, water quantity and coffee strength. There is also a dial for selecting the mode.

USE

If you like a good espresso at home without all the hassle (and expense) of using a traditional espresso machine, you could probably do with a bean to cup machine, like the Gaggia Brera Automatic. It will enable you to have barista style coffee at the touch of a button.

The magnifica ESAM 3000 & 4000 are similar bean to cup coffee machines, so if you were looking for comparisons between the Brera and any of these, this post should still be helpful. The compact Brera trades angled sides for rounded corners, which gives this machine a softer aesthetic. It might seem like Gaggia is adding more to your chore list here, but if anything, a brew group that you can manually clean might just have a longer lifespan. Talking about speed, the standby mode is fantastic. It automatically comes on after an hour, saving energy and thus money, whilst keeping the machine ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice. I’m no scientist, but that seems a little fishy to me. Who knows, perhaps Gaggia has just used very low-grade metal or something. Anyway, the only stainless steel part I could identify with certainty was the drip tray grille. With the ESAM 4200, there's no way to know from the dials exactly how much volume you're going to get, that's a case of trial and error.

Automatic coffee machines are now one of the best solutions for anyone who wants to enjoy a coffee like they have in a bar in their own home. The main feature of an automatic coffee machine is the presence of an integrated coffee grinder which, by means of a simple key, allows you to grind the coffee and obtain the selected beverage in a few seconds. Additional features of automatic coffee machines include the ability to prepare more drinks (espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, etc.), by adjusting the degree of coffee grinding, using the memory and auto-off versions. Automatic coffee machines are very simple to manage in terms of maintenance too, thanks to the presence of cleaning cycles that start every time the machine is turned on. Here’s a brief guide that will help you choose the best when you’re buying an automatic coffee machine to suits your needs. A classic automatic machine – for those who don’t have a high budget but enjoy the taste of an excellent espresso, coffee or cappuccino at home. GAGGIA BRERA SILVER RI9305/01 Use the Optiaroma function to set the quantity of ground coffee used. It is possible to select among 3 different settings: light, medium, strong. Press the button; the new setting will be saved with the first espresso brewing.

Gaggia Brera Overview

Also, to get to the bean hopper with the Brera, you take off and fully remove the lid, whereas with the Magnifica you need to open the hinged lid, which requires another 10cm or so of space. Between programmable cup sizes for espresso and lungo shots, three brew strengths and five grind sizes, there’s plenty of room to tinker with preferences. Once you’ve targeted your favorite espresso combination, the machine will remember it for next time. The loudest element of any bean to cup coffee machine is the grinding of course, and both of these machines are fairly quiet. The Brera is slightly quieter, I found. I think this is mainly because the bean hopper on the Brera has a rubber seal, which will keep beans fresher and also dampen the noise a bit. Considering Gaggia’s fondness for ceramic burr grinders, I’m not surprised to see one on this super automatic espresso machine, It’s not an unwelcome discovery by any means. Ceramic grinders have a reputation for being durable as well as reducing heat transfer during the grinding process.
