Neil has a one-night stand with an over-the-hill woman, sports an erection for most of the morning and wears white underwear to the pool. The film is meant to be a fair well to the guys after three very successful TV series and the lads go out in style. Abhorrent Admirer: Jay initially treats Jane as one of these, not wanting to get "stuck with the fat one". If I had to justify why I loved this film with one sentence, it would be this: at no point does it stray from the formula that made the show so refreshing. For fans of the television series I'm quite sure they'd prefer to dive right into the thick of the action rather than be given yet another "origin" act, so in this respect, Palmer found the balance required to satisfy both sides.

Luckily, as the movie progressed, it became more and more comical, hilarious and those four "boys" really grew on me – all individually. Lack of Empathy: Combined with some arguably correct logic by Will when he discovers that the parents of a wheelchair-bound girl have reserved loungers by the pool. When the boys arrive at their accommodation, the manager tells them that if they take a dump on the floor, he'll charge them an extra 50 euros.

Narrated by Bird's character Will, the boys' holiday is marked with drugs, booze and sex, or so they had hoped. During the movie, Simon grows to like her more and more, but he still keeps his ridiculous, one-sided crush on Carli.

Good-Times Montage: After Simon and Jay make up, we get a rare montage of the four actually having a fun time dancing and drinking with each other. That said, the kid was acting like a little shit by continuously harassing Jay and so arguably had it coming. For added humour, we see that despite getting paid for her time, the woman hasn't even taken anything off.The film is very funny and has numerous laugh out loud moments, but the great thing is the spirit of the film. I just thought, it's somewhat funny and I liked how the movie that reminded me a lot of the original American Pie but was very unabashed with its characters compared to how backwards we're here.

The film, directed by Ben Palmer, doesn't take too long nor too deliberate in its introduction of key characters, allowing you to get to know these friends as we move along the narrative, and it isn't hard since each has their particular primary trait that caricatures them. Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Simon prepares to swim from a yacht to shore as a big romantic gesture, to massive, raging cheers and applause from all on board. But before they must decide what to do for the rest of their lives (also known as the next five years) they have six weeks to think it over and take the obligatory 'lads holiday' which is an old, wise British tradition for any male who reaches the age of eighteen. Neil gets one when he arrives at the airport with Lisa and as he is taking a picture of them both on his phone, sees that Nicole is behind him. While the acting skills of the four main actors may not always reach the highest level, their charm and likability compensate for any shortcomings.

Minutes later, the whole boat is silent as Simon begins to drown, and winds up being airlifted to hospital by the coast-guard.
